Holton Power Lifting Meet
At Holton High School on Saturday, January 30th, Brenden Cook, RJ Brown, and Eric Payne competed in a power-lifting tournament. Schools from around the state were represented. Our lifters represented Oakridge extremely well. The results are as follows (weight class competed in): Brenden took 1st place (275) with a squat of 560, bench of 320, and deadlift of 525, to total 1405. RJ took 2nd place (275) with a squat of 450, bench of 275, and deadlift of 475, to total 1200. Eric took 1st place (275+) with a squat of 365, bench of 215, and deadlift of 415, to total 995. With these lifts, there were eight new meet records set as well as 9 personal records. The totals from just these three lifters also resulted in a 2nd place team finish! Great job guys! We are very proud of you!
Oakridge Football Lifters of the Week
Congratulations to the following Oakridge Football weight lifters for earning “Lifter of the Week” in the out of season lifting program. They are, week one, Eric Payne, week two, Branden Jasso, and week three Evan Patton. In order to qualify, a lifter needs to complete all six core lifts for the week. A Wilks co-efficient multiplies their weight total in order to calculate their rank.
