OAKLAND WHITECAPS MISSION STATEMENT

The Oakland Whitecaps were organized to help promote structured, competitive baseball for players who are seeking to improve upon individual and team skills, as well as life skills. Our primary goal is to help individuals develop and improve upon the fundamentals that are necessary for those who wish to take their game to the next level. The Whitecaps coaching staff is experienced and dedicated to providing the best possible instruction and guidance for young players. The Oakland Whitecaps play out of Oakland County, Michigan and are associated with Nations, Pastime, and Triple Crown Baseball. Mike Harris Manager Oakland Whitecaps

Whitecaps Congratulate Trevor MacDonald on Signing with Jackson College!

Please join me in congratulating Trevor MacDonald on his signing with Jackson College!  Trevor will be in his first
official" year with the Whitecaps but is no stranger to our program. 
 
We are looking forward to this summer with Trevor and wish him the best of luck at pursuing his goal of continuing his baseball career next fall with the Jets!

Donovan "DJ" Zezula Signs with Wayne State University!

Oakland Whitecap/Clarkston HS Senior DJ Zezula has signed to play baseball & football at Wayne state University!

DJ led the Wolves to back-to-back Division I State Championships as a QB!  DJ is also a star on the diamond for the Wolves. 

DJ joined the Whitecaps as a U12 player and we have had the pleasure of having the Zezuala family with us for the past several years!  DJ is the "ultimate" team-mate that also has a tremendous work-ethic!

 Congratulations to DJ and his family, the Whitecaps wish you the best of luck!  We look forward to one final of summer!

Charlie Ellis Commits to Union University!

Charlie Ellis has committed to play for Union University in Jackson, TN.  Union is an NCAA Division II school.

Charlie is a second year Oakland Whitecap that plays all Outfield positions and has a great swing from the left-handed batters box!

Charlie has led his HS team for the past several years in all offensive categories and also led the Whitecaps last summer in doubles, along with being the top offensive player in several categories!

Charlie will take a great work ethic, attitude, and leadership to the next level and we are excited for he and his family!

Ben Vigliarolo Headed To Trine University!

Congratulations Ben Vigliarolo!  Ben is a Senior at Walled Lake Central HS, and has recently committed to attend and play baseball at Trine University starting in the Fall of 2015!   Best of luck to Ben and Congratulations to he and his family, we look forward to a great summer!

Mitchell Shedlowsky Commits to Albion College!

Congratulations Mitchell Shedlowsky!  Mitchell is a Senior at Waterford Mott HS, and has recently committed to attend and play baseball at Albion College starting in the Fall of 2015!  Mitchell is  6'2" a RHP/SS/3B for the Corsairs and Whitecaps; will be called upon to pitch for Albion!  Best of luck to Mitchell, we look forward to a great summer!

Kyle Harris Accepts Athletic/Academic Scholarship to play at SAU

Novi Franklin Road catcher-infielder Kyle Harris recently signed an letter of intent to play baseball at Spring Arbor University where he'll join his brother Nick, who as a freshman started at shortstop and hit .324 as the Cougars reached the NAIA World Series going 2-2. Kyle Harris, an All-Region pick as a junior, is a three-time team captain, two-time team MVP and four-time All-District and All-MIAC selection. In 77 career games he has a .462 batting average with 102 hits to go along with 84 RBI and 83 runs scored. The school record holder for homers (6), Harris plans to major in Exercise Science and minor in Youth Ministry.

Whitecaps Win Cincinnati Flames Gold Championship!

The Oakland Whitecaps capped off another fun and exciting summer of baseball by winning the Gold Bracket Championship 2-0 over the Indiana Mustangs at Miami University!  Ryan Rea threw a complete game 3-hit shoutout and Mike Morelli and Derek Dudek drove in the only runs the Whitcaps would need. 

In the Semi-Final game; Brett Kramer also gutted out a complete game 6-hitter as the  Caps defeated the Cincy Flames 4-1.  Kyle Harris provided the offensive fire-power going 3-3 with a single, double and a Home Run that all but sealed the W for the Whitecaps. 

Michael Morelli earned the W on the mound in the Quarter-Final game with Charlie Ellis earning the  save.   Ryan Rea earned the W in the opening round of ellimination play by pitching 3 innings of relief in a thrilling extra-inning game with the Huntington Hounds (WV).  

The Whitecaps finished the week winning 7 games and losing only 2 finishing the season with an overall record of 20-12-2!  Congratulations to all of our boys and thank you to all of our families for making 2014 a great season!

The Whitecaps will say good-bye and good luck to the following players: 9 year Whitecap Kevin O'Malley (Trine University).  Michael Morelli (3 years) GVSU, Zach Kallgren (3 Years) Trine University, and Ryan Rea (5 years) Adrian College.  All four players will be taking their skills to the next level and play a big part in the baseball programs of their respective Universities\.

4 Whitecaps Set to Play at the Next Level in the Fall of 2014!

The 2014 Whitecaps are excited to announce that four of its current U18 players will be playing College Baseball starting in the fall of 2014!  Seniors Ryan Rea (Clarkston), Zach Kallgren, Kevin O'Malley, and Michael Morelli (All from Walled Lake Central) will take their game to the next level.

Kevin O'Malley:  Trine University

Michael Morelli:  Saginaw Valley State University

2015 Oakland Whitecaps Roster!

The 2015 Oakland Whitecap roster has been finalized with the Caps returning all 6 of our "non-collegiate" players!

Returning to the Whitecaps for their 10th season will be: Gavin Harris, Kyle Harris, and Brett Kramer!  Also returning in 2015:  Donovan DJ Zezula (7th year), Charlie Ellis (2nd Year), Miles Hardy (2nd year), and  Derek Dudek (2nd Year). 

The Oakland Whitecaps would like to welcome the following new players:

Trevor MacDonald, Matthew Lorey, Paul Alex, Ben Vigliarolo, Mitchell Shedlowsky, Spencer Hereford, and Jacob Christiansen! 

The Whitcaps will once again be playing a very competitive tournament schedule playing on some of the top college fields in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois.  Stay tuned for the full 2015 scheudle.

4 Whitecaps Take Game to the Next Level!

The Oakland Whitecaps would like to congratulate the following players:  Dalton Ovesen (Olney Central College), Jacob Gardner (Hillsdale College), and Tyler Vaughan (Macomb Community College).  These 2012 Graduates have earned spots/scholarships on  their respective college teams!  Also, Nick Harris (2013 Graduate) has signed to play at Spring Arbor University!  We wish all four players the best of luck and look forward to hearing big things about each player in the future.  Dalton played for the Whitecaps for 3 seasons, Tyler played the past two years as a Whitecap while Jacob played the 2012 season.  Nick has been a "life-time" Whitecap and will finish his Whitecap career in 2013 having played with us for  8 years!  Once again, congratulations and good luck to all four players.  We will miss you all very much!

Whitecaps Top 10 Finish in Wright State Best of the Midwest 96 team Tourney!

The Whitecaps finished off a very impressive 4-1 weekend in Dayton, Ohio. The Caps competed in the Pastime Tournament Best of the Midwest consisting of 96 teams.  The Whitecaps opened up with consecutive 2-1 wins on the opening day and followed that up with a come from behind 6-5 victory at Wright State over the Baltimore Blue Jays in 8 innings.  Elimination play  involving the top 32 began with a thrilling 6-5 nine inning walk-off victory at Whittenburg University.  The Caps fell to the Ohio Warhawks in their final game.  Next up for the Whitecaps is a trip to Richmond, Virginia to compete in the Triple Crown US Baseball Nationals.
