Oakland Whitecaps U18 Baseball Club
OAKLAND WHITECAPS MISSION STATEMENT
The Oakland Whitecaps were organized to help promote structured, competitive baseball for players who are seeking to improve upon individual and team skills, as well as life skills. Our primary goal is to help individuals develop and improve upon the fundamentals that are necessary for those who wish to take their game to the next level. The Whitecaps coaching staff is experienced and dedicated to providing the best possible instruction and guidance for young players. The Oakland Whitecaps play out of Oakland County, Michigan and are associated with USSSA, MATBL, Sandlott, Nations, Pastime, and Triple Crown Baseball. Mike Harris Manager Oakland Whitecaps

The Oakland Whitecaps would like to congratulate the following players: Dalton Ovesen (Olney Central College), Jacob Gardner (Hillsdale College), and Tyler Vaughan (Macomb Community College). These 2012 Graduates have earned spots/scholarships on their respective college teams! Also, Nick Harris (2013 Graduate) has signed to play at Spring Arbor University! We wish all four players the best of luck and look forward to hearing big things about each player in the future. Dalton played for the Whitecaps for 3 seasons, Tyler played the past two years as a Whitecap while Jacob played the 2012 season. Nick has been a "life-time" Whitecap and will finish his Whitecap career in 2013 having played with us for 8 years! Once again, congratulations and good luck to all four players. We will miss you all very much!

The Whitecaps will once again be busy traveling throughout the Midwest competing in high quality showcase tournament events. We are looking forward to another successful summer of baseball.

Monday, July 18
The Whitecaps finished off a very impressive 4-1 weekend in Dayton, Ohio. The Caps competed in the Pastime Tournament Best of the Midwest consisting of 96 teams. The Whitecaps opened up with consecutive 2-1 wins on the opening day and followed that up with a come from behind 6-5 victory at Wright State over the Baltimore Blue Jays in 8 innings. Elimination play involving the top 32 began with a thrilling 6-5 nine inning walk-off victory at Whittenburg University. The Caps fell to the Ohio Warhawks in their final game. Next up for the Whitecaps is a trip to Richmond, Virginia to compete in the Triple Crown US Baseball Nationals.
