NYAA "FRED HOSSLER"

NIGHT AT THE IRON PIGS

Northwest is proud to announce Friday May 27th, as "Fred Hossler" night at the Iron Pigs. In Memory of Fred, Ehrlich pest control purchased each player a ticket to the game. Each ticket has a $2 value, good at any Pigs owned food vendor, or the merchandise store. This year we will have more than 540 players and family members in attendance.

Gates at Coca Cola Park open at 5:45. All players who will be in the parade should report to section 116 immediately, as the parade will leave promptly at 6:15pm. All players should wear their teams jersey. Managers and Coaches in the parade only, please, no parents. Those players chosen to be on the field for the singing of the National Anthem, will remain on the field after the parade. They will be returned to our section, after the pre-game festivities have concluded.

NEW STATE BACK ROUND CHECK INFORMATION

The State of Pennsylvania has mandated that all volunteers that have contact with children in the sporting community, schools etc, be required to go through our own states Pa. back round check system. This is called  Title 23 Amendment, section 6344. For those who have lived in the state of PA. for the last 10 years, it requires you filling out free paperwork on 2 websites, and bringing us the copies of your completed approved paperwork. For those who have moved into our state sometime in the last 10 years, it requires additional finger prints, which do come with a cost to you. Anyone wishing to Manage or Coach a team in any capacity, will not be allowed on the field for a practice or game, or in the dugout,  unless you have turned in a copy of these approved documents. These documents can be duplicated and transferred to any other sports or activity you are a part of, and only need to be done once, every 60 months. Below are the websites to get your paper backround checks completed.  It is our hope that every parent will want to get this done, since there could be a time your Manager is shorthanded, and could use your help in the dugout, or on the field. Each Manager will have a list of the parents on his/her team who have successfully completed the back round check process. This will assure we follow state guidelines, and allow only those accredited people on the field of play, or in the dugout.

 LITTLE LEAGUE COACHES CLINIC

         WITH "BIG AL"

Northwest has teamed up with other Little Leagues from District 20, to bring the

Big Al Coaches clinic to our coaching Staff. This is mandatory for every manager at Northwest this season.

The Big Al show will show you how to teach fundamentals, with tips and drills to help you run practices.

This is a hands on clinic, to make you a better coach, and in turn make our players better.
