WORK PARTIES

 Northwest holds work parties on Saturdays in March, to get the fields and complex ready for the up coming season. The work parties are from 9am-Noon. Each team is designated a date at their team meeting. Please sign in on your teams sheet in the meeting room, so your team gets credit for your time. Various jobs, from cleaning base closets, bathrooms and the kitchen, to painting, raking and field and buiding repairs. Please dress accordingly, wearing clothing you dont mind getting dirty in. Should you not be available on your teams designated weekend, you can pick one of the others and still get credit.

TRY-OUTS (EVALUATIONS)

Player evaluations will be held Saturday and Sunday March 4-5. Every player will be on a team.They are designed so Managers can see the players, and draft the teams as evenly as possible. Please make every attempy to get your child there, so the process works as its designed. They are held in our blue indoor batting cages at our complex. This is located at the far end of the road you are on, when you come through the gate. Please arrive 15 minutes early, to check in. Please read the batting cage rules, which are posted under the try out times. There is no try outs for Tee Ball, Major, Jr and Sr baseball.

2. NO GUM OR SUNFLOWER SEEDS

4. WATER ONLY-NO COFFEE, SODA ETC. (INCLUDES PARENTS)

5. ALL BATTERS MUST WEAR A HELMET 

 **The batting cages are now under 24 hr surveillance. Anyone breaking or stealing equipment, or found breaking the rules will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.


 

 

 

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING #1

 Northwest Little League will hold it's first of four General Membership meetings Sunday February 19th at 7pm. This is held in the meeting room on the back of the snack stand. Anyone wishing to be elected to a managers position for a team in Minors, Farms, Majors, Jr or Sr should be present at this meeting. Tee ball managers will be selected at a later date. Anyone unable to attend, but interested must send an email letter with your intentions, including your experience coaching to myself, or any other Council Member. *****Only those who have turned in Approved Back Round check paperwork will be considered.

2017 Little League Registration

            Below is the schedule for registration dates, and an explanation of fees for the 2017 Little League baseball and softball seasons. All registrations are held in our Council Room, which is located at the rear of our snack stand at our complex at 1500 Kaywin Ave Bethlehem Pa 18018. At the left in the handout section is the registration form, and code of conduct form. Please fill out each form, and print out a copy of the registration form for each child you have playing. having this paperwork at registration will help speed the process once you arrive. Age charts for both baseball and softball are also available in the handout section. All first time players must bring a copy of their birth certificate for proof of age.

              A reminder  all Managers and Coaches must have current approved back round paperwork turned in to the League. This paperwork is good for 5 years. If you turned it in last season, we should have it on file. An explanation of what needs to be done to be compliant is also in the handout section. both Pa back round websites:

NYAA FEE

             Each family must join the Northwest Youth Athletic Associaiton each year, and pay the yearly dues fees. This fee is only paid once, regardless of how many children are playing, or how many programs they participate in. This money is used for maintenence of the complex, buildings, fields, machinery and utilities.

  $50 per family

 

LITTLE LEAGUE FEES

              Each player is charged a registration fee to play baseball or softball. The amount of the fee depends on their age and division, as some require paid umpires. Registration includes a jersey, hat, socks, insurance, equipment and paid umpires in those divisions requiring them.

BASEBALL (T-BALL AND MINORS)------------------$40

BASEBALL (FARM, MAJOR, JUNIOR, SR)------------$75

  FUND RAISING

                  Each family is required to fundraise only once, regardless of how many children you have in the league.  You have 2 options for fund raising:

OPTION #1-Raffle tickets.15 tickets at $5 each Winners drawn at Opening Day

OPTION #2- Buy Out- $50 paid at registration

 

                                                                                                                            SNACK STAND

                 Each family is required to work one shift in the snack stand per child they have in the League. A $20 deposit will be collected at registration for each child. This $20 deposit will be handed back to you, at the conclusion of you working your shift. You may also tell us at registration that you do not want to work a shift. In that case we will use your $20 deposit to pay someone willing to cover your shift. You must make that decision at registration, not the week or day of your shift, or by simply just blowing it off. If you are interested in having your name on the list of those willing to cover a shift, please contact Anna Koehler at azp123@aol.com   . Penalty for not showing up is your child being benched for one game, and forfeiture of your deposit.

 

     

       NORTHWEST

"FRED HOSSLER" NIGHT

   AT THE IRON PIGS

 

Northwest Little League and Ehrlich Pest Control are proud to sponsor this event on Friday May 26th, in remembrance of Fred Hossler. Each player will receive a free ticket to the game, and to be in the parade around the field before the game. 12 lucky players will get a chance to stand on the field during the National anthem, and one will have the honor of throwing out the first pitch. Ticket forms for parents, family and friends will be emailed in the near future. 

 

 

 

 **NEW OUTDOOR BATTING CAGES**

 

Construction of 2 outdoor batting cages is nearly completed . One 14x55 foot model behind the upper boys field. One 14x70 foot model between the boys and girls field on the lower level. These cages will be dedicated opening day in Memory of Kasey Roman, and Fred Hossler.

From the East or West:
(West)Take Route 22 East to Route 378 South. (East) Take Route 22 West to Route 378 South. Get off at the first exit (Schoenersville Road). At the light at the exit, make a left, this is actually Catasauqua Rd. Go back over Route 378, past a fire station and school to the first right you can make. (Kaywin Ave). Turn right onto Kaywin and go to the second stop sign. Turn right at stop sign (Valley Rd), and go throught the gate.   
From the North: 
Take Rout 33 South to Route 22. Take Route 22 West to Route 378 South. Get off at the first exit (Schoenersville Road). At the light at the exit, make a left, this is actually Catasauqua Rd.
