                          2009 LITTLE LEAGUE TOURNAMENT SEASON

You may follow Northwest, and all the other District 20 teams on the District website at: WWW.PA20LL.ORG   click on the website, go to tournaments on the left hand side, and click on the age bracket you desire. We will also follow all the Northwest teams, with a game recap on this homepage.

9-10 GIRLS

THURSDAY 7/9 6PM  AT LEHIGH

9-10 BOYS

SUNDAY 7/5 5PM AT CITY LINE

The boys looked super in their opener against City Line. Right from the get go, we scored 5 runs in the first innning. It looked like most all the boys had a hit in the game, total 12 in all, with Justin Schmoyer leading the way going 3 for 3 and 5 RBI's. Mike Perrault was the winning pitcher, final score 23-4 after 4 innings. Next game will be a good one.

Next game at Nazareth Tuesday 7/7 6PM

On this night the young Northwest team was no match for the well seasoned Nazareth team, losing 8-2. Pitcher Harrison Fandel was 2 for 2, and Mike Perrault had 3 hits and one RBI. This team has alot of talent and is young. They will surely be a team to watch in the future. Good luck next game boys.

Next Game : Thursday 7/9 6PM at North Central

11-12 BOYS

WEDNESDAY 7/1 6PM AT NORTHEAST

On this day, Northeast was no match for Coach Lutseo and the boys of summer. Northwest over Northeast 15-2. Behind winning pitcher Sean Fritz, the team collected 13 hits, with no errors on the field. Home runs by Charles Benzing and Tyler Lutseo, and 2 RBI's each by Tyler Erney,Derek Skinner and Sean Kelly fueled the potent Northwest offense. Come out and watch the team, as their next game is sure to be a thriller.

Next game at Lehigh Wednesday 7/8 6PM

What a game !  Talented youth, Great coaching, and patients were all the day ordered. Starting pitcher Tyler Lutseo gave them all he had, until his tank was empty. Josh Polenchar came in relief, to pitch masterfully, and keep the big hitting Lehigh boys off stride with his curve ball. In the 6th inning, down 2 runs, with the top of our order up, the boys new this was their last chance. Lehighs pitcher tried to pitch around the big hit threats of our team, only to get bit by the rest of the hitters who stepped it up in time to give Northwest a big win 8-6 to take the winners bracket championship. Northwest had 9 hits, and no errors in the field. The hit parade provided by Tyler Erney 4 RBI, Charles Benzing 3 hits, Tyler Lutseo 2 hits and Sean Fritz 2 hits. Coach Lutseo has been Coaching these boys for years, his patients, the boys eagerness to learn and prosper, and weekend Tournaments have peaked this team at the right time. Congratulations boys and staff !  Keep it going

Next Game: Saturday 7/11 5PM home vrs. losers bracket winner (Nazareth or Lehigh)

11-12 GIRLS

MONDAY 6/29 6PM AT LEHIGH

Loss 15-5

Next Game: Wednesday 7/1 6PM at home vrs. HLS/CL/NC

The Ladies of West Bethlehem, weren't running on all cylinders last night. They just couldn't seem to get anything going offensively and errors in the field scored runs that kept the team out of the game. Thank you staff for volunteering your time and efforts. Ladies, thanks for your commitment and spirit of the game. Hope you have a great summer. HLS/CL/NC over West Bethlehem 16-2

13-14 BOYS

SUNDAY 4/28 1PM AT HELLERTOWN

Ah, the mood swings of a Jr. boys game. The first 3 innings of the game our team looked like a million bucks. Kevin Klinger pitched a masterful 3 innings, with some great defensive plays, and a plethora of hits from the boys to back him up, we led Hellertown 7-1 . In the next 2 innings they came back to take the lead 8-7. In the top of the 5th with runners on 1st and 2nd, Kevin Klinger hit a 2 run double to give us back the lead 9-8. Then the wheels fell off the wagon, with about 10 errors in the 5th and 6th innings, behind the pitching of Adam Uliana, Tyler Piper and Ryan Denny. At that point the boys looked like about a buck two fifty. Final score Hellertown over Northwest 17-9 . Good luck to the boys next game. You have alot of talent, but you gotta play hard for 7 innings.

Next Game: Tuesday 7/7 6 PM home vrs. NC/SS

Like the song goes-Boom Boom Boom, out go the lights. The game started at 5:45 and ended in darkness at 8:45 .  For Northwest, DJ Schmoyer was certainly the MVP. He went 3 for 4 with 6 RBI'S and was also the winning pitcher of record. Other offensive stars were Collin McGeary 2 for 4, and Tyler Pieper 2 for 4. The boys played much better today, and for their efforts will live to play another day.

Next Game : Sunday 7/12  5 PM vrs. winner of Lehigh - City Line game

14-16 BOYS

TUESDAY 7/7 6PM AT  PENNRIDGE

Tonight the boys played to their potential, beating Pennridge 15-1. Winning pitcher Dylan Sauerwine also went 2 for 4. Other offensive contributors were Peter Daland 2 for 4, Sean McMurtrie 2 RBI, Vinnie Augello 2 RBI. On paper this team has the talent to be a District Champion. If the boys play with as much heart and desire as they have talent, the sky's the limit. This is your year boys, seize the moment!

Next game : Saturday 7/11 at 1PM at NE/NC/SS
