Age & Weight Requirements

FOOTBALL DIVISIONS  (all ages as of July 31, 2008).



JUNIOR NOVICE:

Age 6-8
50-90 lbs   (There are no Older - Lighters in this age division, any longer). 
*** JUNIOR NOVICE IS A NON-COMPETITIVE DIVISION ***

 



NOVICE:

Ages 8-10
60-110 lbs   (Older - Lighters, 11 yrs old, 60-85 lbs.) Limited to Four per team.
Maximum of 45 players allowed on Novice team.


JUNIOR VARSITY:

Ages 10-12
75-140 lbs.   (Older - Lighters, 75-110 lbs.) 8th graders that are 12-13 yrs of age and weigh more than 100 lbs are only eligible to play on Varsity.
Maximum of 45 players on J.V. team.


VARSITY:

Ages 11-14
100-190 lbs.   (A limit of Five 9th graders will be allowed).
Maximum of 45 players on Varsity team.


** Football Players must make weight for their division. If a player can not make weight for their division, they will not be allowed to play in the games. Players will have until the Friday before the third game to make weight. If a player can not make weight by this date, he will be cut from the team. These are DYFL set rules for all franchises.



CHEERLEADERS:

Ages 4 - 7 - Junior Novice
Ages 8 and 9 - Novice
Ages 9 and 10 - Junior Varsity
Ages 11 - 14 - Varsity

 (There are no weight requirements for Cheerleaders).
