frequently asked questions by new parents and athletes

How long have the Tigers been around?
Since, as far as we can trace back, the 1960's. That is according to ex-Tigers who recall playing when they were 10 and they are now in their fifties.

Can I help coach my son?
Absolutely, we background check ALL coaches and we even interview again, to be sure ALL coaches have the temperment to work with kids. Yes they are kids first, athletes second.

What if my kid isn't as good as other players?
Regardless of your child's natural talent, we guarantee playtime for each youth. Not only in the organization but everyone in the league must play all their kids at least 8 plays per half.( As long as they have attended every practice or are being disciplined)
The head coach has the final say in this matter.

Are there tryouts?
No we do not tryout, every kid that signs up plays. We are not a select organization, nor an A and B team. If we have to split our teams it is done evenly as possible so all Tigers can play evenly in a competitive league.

How good is the league?
We play the best every community has to offer. In our opinion it is one of the best leagues out there.

What league are you in?
We play in the E.V.W. (Elkhorn,Valley,Waterloo) league.

Then who do you play?
Elkhorn,D.C. West,Blair,Mo. Valley, Ashland,Hickman, Fort Calhoun, Valley, Gretna, Arlington,Plattsmouth, Bennington,Yutan, Springfield and Gross junior athletics

Why would I pay when my junior high does not cost a dime?

1. We play more games, so the athletes have more opportunity to apply the things they learn.
2. Every coach has played the game from at least high school, they don't just watch it on t.v. and think they can teach it. They have been taught HOW to play and are passing on those skills.
3. In club football your child gets more one on one time with the coaching staff, so they have more time to work on their skills. We abandon no one.
4. It is fun to travel to other towns and meet other kids, other parents who share the same interests as you. Broadening our horizons.
5. You get what you pay for, each kid receives recognition at end of year banquet and we supply a highlight video. It is a fun fun time.

" Winning is not everything while it is fun, it is not the bottom line. Teaching the game to a child who has never played, is the ultimate achievement.
