NATIONAL CHAMPIONS
DeVanae Mitchell and Tia Jones both won national titles at the 1st USATF Youth Athletics Indoor Championship held in Hillside, IL Mitchell won the 55 meter dash while Jones won the Shot Put. Being that this was the first Indoor Championships both winning marks will be listed as USATF National Meet Records.
BUFORD-BAILEY NAMED OLYMPIC-COACH
Former Northwest athlete, Tonja Buford-Bailey, has been named Sprint/Hurdle Coach for the USA 2012 Olympic Team. Buford-Bailey is currently Head Women's Coach at the University of Illinois.

REFEREE ASSIGMENTS
Coach Martin has been assiged to Referee the following track meets during the 2009 season: MEAC at Greenboro, NC; Big Ten Championships at Columbus, OH; NCAA Eastern Regional at Greensboro, NC; USATF Jr. Nationals at Eugene, OR, USATF Youth Athletics Championships at Ypsilanti, MI and the USATF National Jr. Olympics at Greensboro, NC.
