Managers, please make the following information, available to your players and parents:
1) Rain Out Number is 713.449.5506
This is a great number for all coaches to have, so that if it is raining just before time to leave for the game, each team (coaches only, please) can call and get the latest information. Understandably, games will be called after the rain has started, and it is obvious that it is more than just a brief shower. We’ll give it a chance to blow thru…but there’s a critical moment at which the decision will be made and the game called. The rainout number will be updated the moment that decision has been arrived at. Also, more detailed information can be viewed on the website at www.nwbaseball.net under the specific tournament heading. If the tournament is in a rain delay, try first to log onto the website and/or come by the pavilion at Doss Park for the latest information. During a rain delay, many people call the rainout number and no new information can be posted while someone is listening to the old message, so sometimes it is difficult to update the rainout line.
2) Tournament Entry Fees
There is a gate fee added to your registration fee, which covers entry to the facility for everyone on your team, and those who are spectators. In some cases this gate fee will not be charged and a per person fee of $3 — $7, depending on the type of tournament will be charged at the front gate. If this is the case, a message will be posted on the official NWBA website and coaches, (3 only), Players and children under the age of 9 are free. World Series events include the option of purchasing weekly passes.
3) Parking
Parking is at each individual’s own risk. This is a baseball facility and everybody knows what happens at baseball parks: balls hit are not always confined to the field of play. We are all aware of that going in. DO NOT PARK in any service drive area so as to block access to that particular area. DO NOT leave purses and other valuables in your car!!
4) Food & Drinks
At Northwest Baseball Association , NO DRINKS or FOOD are to be brought into the facility. There will be access to soft drinks, sports drinks and all kinds of food at all concessions facilities. Water is available in each dugout.
5) Between Games
Please clear the dugout area as quickly as possible after the conclusion of your game as other teams are trying to get their game started. Have your team pick up any trash in the dugouts and then hold any team discussions outside the playing field area.
6) There are no NO PETS allowed in the ballpark.
7) Tournament Brackets
Tournament brackets and game scores will be located at the Concession stand at F2 or at the website www.nwbaseball.net. All effort will be made to keep up to date information on the website for those of you who have access to it.
