Dodgers Information Hotline: 206-686-2351

Welcome to the on-line home of the 2003 Northwest Dodgers!
The Dodgers are a team of 14 year olds from the Puget Sound region of Western Washington that will be playing in the Washington State Sandy Koufax Baseball Association (WSSKBA) 14U league. The Dodgers will be playing in the Olympic Division. The Dodgers club has been in existence since the 2001 season. The 2001 Dodgers played in the WSSKBA 13U division as 12 year olds and did very well, competing strongly and defeating during the regular season 3 of the final 4 teams in the state tournament. In addition, the 2001 Dodgers team traveled to Omaha, NE to participate in the 12U Continental Amateur Baseball Association (CABA) Ultimate World Series, where they finished a strong 5th. The 2002 Dodgers went 24-2 in league and traveled to Broken Arrow (Tulsa), OK to participate in the 13U CABA Ultimate World Series, where they finished 3rd behind Kansas and Brazil. Please see our "2001 History" and "2002 History" pages for information related to the 2001 and 2002 Dodgers respectively. You will find information relating to the 2003 Dodgers under the "News" link on this page.

In addition to the WSSKBA schedule, the team plans on traveling to Phoenix in the spring to play in a Triple Crown World Series qualifying tournament and playing in the CABA and AAU 14U World Series qualifying tournaments here in the Northwest. The Dodgers are made up of players from Marysville to Kent and Kirkland to Seattle. We also have a pair of players from south Whidbey Island that have to juggle ferries in with their baseball schedule. Please see our schedule for times and places where you can see the Dodgers play.

07/25 - Dodgers End Year 5th at USSSA Major World Series

The 2003 Dodgers' season came to an end with a hard-fought 6-3 loss to the Dallas Texans, which left them in 5th place in the USSSA Major World Series. The Dodgers went 5-2 in the tournament, which featured most of the best 14U teams from Texas including the 2001 12U and 2002 13U USSSA Major World Series champion Houston Raiders, who finished 6th. The top 6 were:

1) Louisiana Tigers
2) Houston Banditos
3) Texas Magic
4) Dallas Texans
5) Northwest Dodgers
6) Houston Raiders

Congratulations to the Dodgers for a great finish. Thanks to all of the players, coaches and parents that made it a great year as well.

07/24 - Dodgers Win, Face Dallas Texans/Texas Magic Loser

The Dodger bats came alive finally at the right time as the Dodgers beat the Liberty, MO White Sox 10-3 in a loser out game. There are 6 teams left in the tournament and the Dodgers will next face the loser of the Dallas Texans/Texas Magic game. The loser of the Houston Raiders/Louisiana Tigers will face the Houston Banditos in the other loser out game tonight.

07/23 - Dodgers Defeat East Texas Astros To Stay Alive

The Dodgers defeated the East Texas Astros 13-9 to stay alive in the loser's bracket. Next up will be the Liberty White Sox from Liberty, MO.

07/23 - Dodgers Lose To Louisiana Tigers

The Dodgers could manage only 3 hits in an 8-0 loss against a good Louisiana Tigers team. This drops the Dodgers into the loser's bracket. They will play at 7:00 tonight against the winner of the Lincoln Force/East Texas Astros game.

07/22 - Dodgers Beat OKC Heat 15-0, Louisiana Tigers Up Next

The Dodgers beat the Oklahoma City Heat 15-0 in a 3 inning run-rule shortened game today. Next up are the Louisiana Tigers from Baton Rouge at 12:15 tomorrow. Check back for updates.
