Indoor Soccer and Soccer Camps
Winter Indoor Soccer (FUTSAL) Starts Dec. 2 2009
Starting December 2nd., Mario Gonzalez the coach responsible for 29 National Championships, is available to train North Valley's players.
Futsol emphasizes improvisation, creativity and technique as well as ball control and passing in small spaces. In countries like Brazil, youth play Futsol until the ages of 13 & 14.
The cost is $80 per series. There are 8 sessions in each series. Each session is one hour The training will be held in the Berryessa Area. Depending on the registrations, the trainings will be either Wednesday or Thursday evenings. Sessions will be held at 5:30, 6:30 or 7:30 PM - the older players will be scheduled for the later sessions.
All participants must by CYSA registered (for insurance purposes) - so, any players on fall 2009 teams at any level are covered. If the player did not play CYSA in fall 2009, there will be an additional $25 CYSA registration fee and the player will need to have a CYSA 1601registration form on file.

Shoot for the Stars Soccer Camp June 14-17 2009
Camp Organizers
The camp is being organized by players from NV teams who are part of Girl Scout Troop 772. This camp is an outreach to disadvantaged children in the area - but will also be open to youth ages 4 to 9 who live in the NVYSL area. Older NV players have also been recruited to serve as "coaches" for this camp. The girls running the camp have significant experience in putting together large events (up to 5,000 attendees) and developing programs for youths aged 4 to 9. For more information see the flier
Fundraising Needs
A component of presenting the event (and completing award requirements) is raising funds to cover the costs of the target group - in this case, the disadvantaged, low-income youth. One method is by holding a yard sale.
November 21st - Yard Sale
If you have items you are getting ready to give away or donate to Goodwill - and might be of interest to others, we're more than happy to take them off your hands. We'll even pick them up. See the flier for contact information.
We need all items by November 15th - but will take them sooner!!
Gently Used Cleats, Shin Guards & Socks Needed: U6, U8 and U10 teams.
Some of the youth attending our summer soccer camp are residents of the San Jose Family Homeless Shelter (located off of King Road near Berryessa Road). Not only do these kids not have the funds to attend any type of extra-curricular programs, but will not have the funds to pay for shin-guards, socks, or cleats. After the season is over, if would be great if familes were able to contribute the equipment their players are likely not able to use in the spring (because the kids feet are too big for the shoes).
If you have questions, please contact anyone on the flier.
D2 Cup
The District 2 Cup is unlike any other youth soccer competition in Northern California. Each year, through the efforts of hundreds of volunteers, the District 2 Cup brings together boys' and girls' recreational and competitive teams from ages U9 - U19 for a weekend of fun.
