Game Card Procedures - NEW for 2009:
Please make sure you read the following taken from the spring website regarding match cards (this is a new procedure). You are no longer using those normal cardstock game cards for matches. Print your own on normal paper and take it with you. The new method will allow you to avoid stickers if you elect to enter all your player information into the system. Full details are here: District 2 Spring Procedures
Note... home teams bring a stamped envelope... so the game cards can be sent by the referees to the district office.
Printing Match Cards for your Match
Log in to your team account (Click on the GotSoccer Team Log In link on the main page).
Click on the Events->My Events and click on "2009 District 2 Spring League".
Click on the Schedule tab.
Matches for your team that have been assigned a field and time will be displayed.
Matches that do not have a time and field assigned will not be displayed.
Click on the small Acrobat PDF match card icon at the beginning of each match line to view and print two copies of the match card for that match.
The Match Card has the information required to report scores for the match.
The home team is responsible for handing one match card to the Referee of the match along with a stamped, envelope addressed to the D2 Spring League.
George Tharakan, D2 Spring League
P.O. Box 2100, Sunnyvale, CA 94087-0100
The match card will contain the rosters for both teams if they have been entered into the system.
If a team roster has not been entered, either write-in or affix a sticker containing all the player information required on the Match Card Roster.
Any Guest players for the match must also be listed on the Match Card Roster.
Field Scheduling:
Spring is a very busy time and comp schedules seem to change weekly as we go through the season. Here are a few ground rules that hopefully will make thing flow a bit easier for the referee assigners:
1) If a match gets canceled notify the Referee Assigner asap via email (copy the Spring Coordinator) and or voice so notification can be sent to the referees and your match rescheduled in arbiter. The sooner the better. Email is prefered.
2) Changes or make up matches will not be added after Wednesday for the following Saturday, Thursday for the following Sunday, so please try to plan ahead (at least a week in advance).
3) We have a 24 hour cancellation policy, if you or your opponent cancels on a Friday you or your opponent will pay cash to the officials on the make up date. When your opponent calls Friday night and says they only have 10 players tell them too bad, they should play anyway, you can loan them a player...if they give you a hard time tell them they must pay the refs cash for the make up game, they usually change their tune upon hearing this rule. Friday night is date night so don't expect a quick last minute response.
4) If you have a field and or time preference, let the Referee Assigner know. We have a limited number of fields and our rec program will be using some fields during the morning time slots. If you would like to schedule a scrimmage please check the Arbiter first by going to the master schedule, pick a date and hit "go" to see field availability. If the field is already reserved for some function request another time/date. Scrimmages will be scheduled on a first come first served basis so plan ahead even if you don't have confirmation from the other team (yet).
5) if you have a question or concern feel free to ask the Referee Assigner.
Field Procedures
I have indicated on the schedules if you have setup (SU) or takedown (TD) of the fields. In case of conflict, I'm going to ask all the coaches to use their best judgment and err on the side of caution. For example, if you are not sure if you are the last team of the day and no one has shown up to warm up for the next game after you, then just assume you are the last team and need to take down the field. Even if there is a team that follows later in the day, it's not too much extra work to be safe.
Setup and Takedown procedures for Milpitas fields:
- Goals and nets are locked. Contact me for the combination if you forget it
- Nets and flags go into the Knaack boxes
- Put the nets in the netbags (don't leave loose)
- When removing the goals, always lock the chain to the fence and spin the dial (to prevent loss)
- Trash goes into the trashcans... NOT in the KNAACK box!
- Make sure the field is clear of litter
Setup and Takedown procedures for Morrill fields:
- Nets and flags are located in the lockbox
- Put the nets into the netbags (don't leave loose)
- When you unlock the goals and porto-potty, please lock the lock to the chain and spin the dial (to prevent loss).
- When putting away the goals, lock goals to trees. Morrill 1 (nearest to Cropley) goals are locked to the trees near the east end line of the field. Morrill 2 goals are locked to the trees at the near the north touch line of field 2 (furthest from Cropley). If the setup crew has done their job right, there should be a lock and chain around these trees to tell you where they belong.
- Goals should be placed UPRIGHT so that they are not easy to take apart by vandals/theives.
- Make sure the porto-potty is locked and the chain is run through the fence (so vandals can't tip it over).
Reporting Scores
After your game, please call the toll free phone number on the game cards to report scores. CYSA asks that this be completed within 48 hours of the match.
