NVMBS: Spring 2012 Divisions

Mini Sox 6U - Ages 4 - 6 as of Dec 31, 2011. Birthyears 2005, 2006, 2007.

Mini Sox is our T-ball division and teaches the girls the fundamentals of softball appropriate for this young age.

 – The field is a 40 foot diamond.
 – The game ball is the 11 inch yellow RagBall.
 – Game time is one hour, depending on a Board vote.
 – No scores or standings are kept.
 – No stealing. No sliding.
 – Every player bats each inning.
 – All players are postioned in the field on defense.
 – During the 1st half, the players hit from a batting-T.
 – In the 2nd half the team's own coach pitches.

8U


BobbySox 8U - Ages 7 - 8 as of Dec 31, 2011. Birthyears 2003, 2004.

 – The field is a 60 foot diamond.
 – Pitching distance is 32 feet.
 – The game ball is the 11 inch, Wilson Soft Compression A9317.
 – All players play a minimum of 2 innings on defensive.
 – Four outfield positions: left, left-center, right-center, and right fields.
 – Special rules may be voted in such as limits on stealing.
 – A completed game is 4 innings. A regulation game is 7.
 – Game time limit is 90 minutes or depending on a Board vote.

10U
Bobby Sox 10U - Ages 9 - 10 as of Dec 31, 2011. Birthyears 2001, 2002.

 – Diamond is 60 feet.
 – Pitching distance is 36 feet.
 – The game ball is the 11 inch Wilson A9306.
 – All players play a minimum of 2 innings on defensive.
 – A completed game is 4 innings. A regulation game is 7.
 – Game time limit is 90 minutes or depending on a Board vote.

12U
American Girl 12U - Ages 11 - 12 as of Dec 31, 2011. Birthyears 1999, 2000.

 – The diamond size is 60 feet.
– Pitching distance is 40 feet.
– The game ball is the 12 inch, raised seam, Wilson A9011.
– All players play a minimum of 2 innings on defensive.
– A completed game is 4 innings. A regulation game is 7.
– Game time limit is 90 minutes or depending on a Board vote.

14U
American Girl 14U - Ages 13 - 14 as of Dec 31, 2011. Birthyears 1997, 1998.

 – The diamond size is 60 feet.
 – Pitching distance is 40 feet.
 – The game ball is the 12 inch, raised seam, Wilson A9011.
 – All players play a minimum of 2 innings on defensive.
 – A completed game is 4 innings. A regulation game is 7.
 – Game time limit is 90 minutes, or depending on a Board vote.

16U
American Girl 16U - Ages 15 - 16 as of Dec 31, 2011. Birthyears 1995, 1996.

Play is at a higher skill level, but field size, game ball, etc. are the same as the 14U division.

Interleague
Teams in the 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U divisions play teams in other local leagues.
