Mission/Introduction/Philospohy & History

Our Mission:

  • Develop competitive skills and tactically oriented players

  • Always show team spirit and good sportsmanship

  • Use sports to teach teamwork and leadership to tomorrows leaders

  • Above all, show respect to players, opponents, and all involved

Introduction:

Nashoba United Team Soccer (NUTS) offers a wide range of age groups for
both young men and women. Incorporated in Chelmsford, MA, we draw
talented and committed individuals from all surrounding areas.

Philosophy:

Nashoba United Team Soccer is dedicated to developing competitive
skills and tactically oriented soccer players. The organization is
dedicated to being very skill oriented with teaching ranging from the
very basics to the most advanced training required. This, along with
teaching the tactical elements of the game to the players in an effort
to become highly competitive in the soccer arena. However, Nashoba
United also focuses on creating an atmosphere where players learn great
team spirit with an emphasis on good sportsmanship.

This also allows us to assist in creating competitive leaders and
individual contributors for the future.

History:

The NUTS were started in an effort to offer a skill oriented and
competitive addition to local town soccer programs. Originally
established for girls in 1992 the club has grown to include additional
boys and girls teams.

Nashoba United Team Soccer was founded in 1992 to provide an
opportunity for a number of Westford girls to play soccer and compete
at the highest possible level. The club was formed by Manny Batista and
Jerry Ryan. They spent considerable time and effort fundraising and
training the team. This team "graduated" from N.U.T.S. after their
spring season in 2000. In their final High School season many of the
girls played for Westford Academy and led the school to a 22-1 season.

In 1996 NUTS added a Boys Under 11 Team comprised of a mix of U10's and
U11's. The following year the boys team split into U12 and U11. Since
that year we have added a new Boys Under 11 team each year.

In 2000 we added our second girls team and have added a new team each
year. In 2001 our philosophy led to MAPLE history. The NUTS BU13 Team
became the first MAPLE-D team to reach the MA State Cup finals.

Our teams have all been coached by men and women who share our passion
for soccer and training. Most have a US Soccer C license or equivalent.
They also understand that that while winning is important it is not the
only thing as we work with young men and women of the community. They
all teach sportsmanship, teamwork and ethical behavior. We are
preparing these players for life.
