  Welcome

Wednesday, September 23

Welcome to the Nutley American Little League website.

Home of the 2007 & 2008 District 8 Champions.

Little League Awards Dinner/Beefsteak has been canceled.  The league will contact everyone if a makeup date is announced.

The 12's were eliminated from the tournament on Saturday, losing to Livingston American 13-1. The boys couldn't score any more after loading the bases in the 1rst inning and pushing across thier only run. Mat Desantis made a valiant effort on the mound through 3 innings, but the big Livingston bats were to strong to keep down. Good job boys and good luck in your baseball future.

Tonights 12 year old game will be played at the Byrd ave. field behind St. Thomas school in Bloomfield at 6:00

Peter Russo clubbed a 2 run home run in the top of the 5th, to put the 12's up 8-6, then pitched a perfect 6th inning, to finish the game with an 8-7 win over a scrappy Belleville team. Russo came on to relieve Jonathan Caplan, who kept the game within reach of a comeback. The cardiac kids were down 6-3 in the 5th and scored 5 runs in the inning to take the lead. Kevin Goudie doubled to tie the score and Russo followed with the go ahead blast. Joe Depaolo also contributed with 2 hits in the game. The Americans are still in the hunt, but play a tough Livingston American team next.

The 12's will play Monday July 13th in Bloomfield at 6:00 against Livingston Americans

The 10's started the tournament on the upside, with a 7-2 victory over North Ward. Sean Bernardo Beckett pitched the Americans to the winners bracket on Sunday against Livingston American

The 12's lost their 2nd game of the tourney 12-7 to a very good North Newark team. The boys couldn't get untracked until late in the game, but made a valiant effort that just fell short. Anthony Mecca, Mat Desantis, and Jonathan Caplan pitched well against a great hitting team. Caplan, Pete Russo, and Victor Caraciola, all had key hits for the Americans, while Michael Conka and Andrew Roberts each made spectacular plays at 2nd. The team will be fighting to stay alive the rest of the way.

All the players and coaches wish the best for Manager John LLano who fell ill before the game. We all hope your feeling better and we look forward to having you back in the dugout soon.

The next game is Saturday July 11th at the Livingston American field at 6:00.

The 12's opened up the all-stars with a 15-2 win over Clemente of Newark. Peter Russo pitched well, after some first inning jitters. The bats came alive in the 3rd inning as the American's mercied Clemente's in the 4th inning. Nick Liaci, Joe Depaolo, Anthony Mecca, and Mat Desantis all had key hits for Nutley. Nutley will play North Newark on Thursday and need a win to hopefully have a showdown with Nutley East on the 13th.

The 11's will open their all-star tournament on July 13th in Livingston against Belleville. Good luck to the players and coaches.

The 10's open their all-star tourney on July 10th at 6:00 in Belleville against North Ward. Good luck to everyone.
