Spring Basketball League Info (click here for registration form)
General Information: The Northshore YMCA offers an instructional spring basketball program that emphasizes fundamental skills such as passing, dribbling, defense and participation. The YMCA Youth Spring Basketball League is designed to be an opportunity for boys and girls to continue their growth, abilities, & skills development in the game of basketball.
Format: Spring Basketball is a nine week program with one hour practices held once a week. Games will be played on Friday nights or Saturdays mornings beginning May 8 or 9th.
Where: Practices will be at the Northshore YMCA and area schools if needed. Games will be at the Northshore YMCA or the Dale Turner Family YMCA in Shoreline.
When: April 20—June 20, 2009. Each practice will be geared toward progressively teaching the fundamental skills of basketball according to skill level. In addition, the importance of teamwork, participation, sportsmanship, values and having fun will be emphasized.
Registration: Ends April 10. Number of teams will be limited by gym space.
Cost: $60 for facility members, $70 for program members. Jersey fees extra!
AGE DIVISIONS:
(Co-Ed) Grade K-1
(Boys and Girls Leagues) Grade 2-3
(Boys and Girls League) Grade 4-6
Children may play up an age group if requested by parent
All participants must be a facility member or a program member. A program member participates in selected YMCA programs, but does not have facility amenities. No practices will be scheduled on non-school days. You will be notified if any changes come up as soon as possible. Check the website for any updates and information. Rosters will be listed on the website when completed.
Jersey Info
Jersey is reversible blue/gold and can be included in registration fees. If you have a basketball jersey from previous seasons, you can use that this season. All YMCA basketball teams will be using the same shirts.
Jersey Sizes: IF IN DOUBT...ORDER A LARGER SIZE.
If you order the wrong size, we will try to get you the size you need after all uniforms have been handed out to teams.
