FALL INDOOR SOCCER PROGRAMS - Register NOW
The YMCA Indoor Soccer Program is open to members and non members from the age of 3 to Grade 6. Teams are co-ed and the season runs September 19 - November 21.

Indoor soccer is just like soccer played outside, with one notable exception, It's played in a gym. All of our indoor soccer games are played at the YMCA and local Northshore elementary schools, in their gyms. The advantages are many. First, you're playing soccer in a controlled environment, meaning no weather hazards. No rain, no cold wind. No sun beating down on you. Second, parents, relatives and friends are much closer to the action. You get to see everything as it happens and as it develops. Third, the playing field--the court--is shorter and narrower, so there is much more action, and more opportunities to score! And then, of course, there are the walls, which gives the players even more of a chance to score because of the bounces and angled shots off the wall. This is really fun soccer for kids. Six kids from each team are on the court during the game; each game runs about 45 minutes. There is a YMCA game official at each soccer match. We ensure the safety of the children, so that if a ball goes somewhere in the gym where kids aren't allowed, the referee is right there to stop the action and put the ball back into play. We use six foot wide soccer goals and an indoor soccer ball, so kids don't get hurt when it bounces off their arms, legs or even off their head.

INDOOR SOCCER GAME RULES

YMCA Sports "Games Approach" to Youth Practice
Based upon a "games approach" to teaching skills and coaching sports, each practice session contains a team circle related to character development that focuses on one of the our six values, caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, faith and fun. Through the "games approach", the kids learn the sport by participating in a number of mini-games at each of their practice sessions. This helps them to develop their skills quicker and have a lot more fun. With our new "games approach" to soccer practice curriculum, coaches and players get the most out of their YMCA Soccer season.
