Overhead Safety Nets have been placed around the hub building and down each spoke past the far side of each dugout.
A state of the art Lightning Prediction System has been installed over the entire 153 acre park. For a storm to produce lightning strikes, it must have a certain amount of static electricity. This new system, measures the static electricity within a radius of the complex and when it builds up to a certain level prior to having enough static to form a lightning bolt, an alarm will sound for a period of 15 seconds and a strobe light will begin flashing. If this should occur during your visit to the park, immediately leave the fields and seek shelter in your vehicles. Once the level of static electricity drops below the required amount to form a lightning bolt, the audible alarm will again sound off. This time it will have 3 short 5 second bursts from the horns and the strobe light will flash. It is now safe to return to the field and resume play.
An awesome concrete skate park has been finished at the opposite side of the park. It opened in October of this year and has been a hit since.
A 13 acre lake with a full 1 mile concrete walking trail has been completed around the lake. Users can enjoy a peaceful walk or jog around the lake viewing nature at its finest. The lake also includes a kayak/canoe launch area, a concrete pier compliant to ADA requirements and standards, a 4.5 acre island attached by a pedestrian bridge. Benches, trash cans and dogging clean-up stations are scattered around the trail for resting or just to relax and enjoy nature.
An AED has been purchased and has been installed at the softball complex.
Consrtuction is almost complete on installing many additional video cameras throughout the entire park.
Construction of the new dog park is complete and is adjacent to the softball and baseball complex. Glynn County has an ordinance prohibiting dogs to be inside a fenced, recreational area or field and are not allowed past the entry gate at the softball or baseball complexes. Current shots and vaccinations are required as well as an up to date rabies tag secured to the pets collar. See full rules at the main entrance to the dog park. Dogs may not be left unattended or enter into the hub complexes.
Construction of two new picnic pavilions has been completed. Each pavilion will shelter 8 - 12 picnic tables and have four (4) large charcoal grills. One will be constructed between the baseball and softball complex near the main parking lot and batting cages and the other one at the football/soccer complex.
Outdoor picnic tables have been installed around the concession stand building for dining patrons.
