Joined Western Carolina in January of 2006 and is listed as a true freshman for the fall of 2006 Catamounts team.

Prior to Western: Hearns, who committed to Syracuse prior to his senior year as a quarterback, played safety at Milford (NY) Academy during the fall of 2005 ... At North Penn: In 2003, as a junior and his first year as the Knights' starting quarterback, Hearns threw for 1,201 yards, completing 60-of-110 pass attempts ... He had 13 touchdowns and only one interception ... In addition, he rushed for 966 yards and 13 scores, including an 18-yard TD jaunt in a 37-10 win over Pittsburgh Central Catholic in the state championship game ... En route to leading North Penn to the 2003 state title, the Knights were 15-0 and Hearns was tabbed first team all-area and first team All-Suburban-One League ... As a senior, he completed 68-of-124 passes for 1,016 yards and seven touchdowns ... Also rushed for 220 yards and two TDs on 81 carries and led North Penn to the District One championship game.

Recorded three tackles in season opener against Central Michigan...had one tackle against Clemson...recorded five tackles, including 1.0 sack and forced one fumble in win over BYU...had 1.0 sack at North Carolina State...blocked a punt, which helped lead to a team safety and recorded one tackle against Maine...had two sacks and six solo tackles in win over Virginia Tech

2005 Season
Finished the season with 20 total tackles (13 solos), one and a half tackles for loss, one sack and one interception...had a career-best five tackles (four solos), one tackle for loss and his first collegiate interception against Virginia...earned his first career start in the Wake Forest game, where he tallied two assists and a half tackle for loss.

High School
Earned All-State Class AAAA second-team honors as a senior running back at North Penn High School ... also a defensive standout who earned All-Area honors at defensive back ... selected to the Harrisburg Patriot News Platinum 33 ... ran for 2,065 yards and 24 touchdowns in his senior season ... rushed for a season-high 210 yards to lead the Knights to victory in the PIAA Class AAAA title game, the school's first-ever state title ... played for head coach Dick Beck ... was selected to play in the 47th annual Big 33 Football Classic; the game pits Pennsylvania All-Stars against Ohio All-Stars ... also starred as a sprinter on North Penn's track team.

2006 is Jason Pane's first season as a member of the Explorer football staff. Coach Pane will be responsible for coaching La Salle's defensive backs this season, as well as assisting with special teams.

In 2005, Pane coached the defensive backs at Catawba College (Salisbury, NC). He also assisted in the film process and in the strength and conditioning program at Catawba. From 2002 through 2005 Pane coached the running backs at J.F. Webb High School (Oxford, NC). In 2000 and 2001 Coach Pane worked with the wide receivers and the defensive backs at Hempfield High School (Mt. Joy, PA).

Coach Pane played his high school football at North Penn High School (Lansdale, PA) for head coaches Joe Shannon and Mike Pettine Jr. Pane is a graduate of Millersville University (BA in Elementary Education, minor in Mathematics) where he played strong safety for head coach Gene Carpenter.

He has taught math for the past four years and is currently working on his Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Coach Pane resides in North Wales, PA.

Clarion University linebacker Chris Janson (Sr. Lansdale - North Penn) was named Honorable Mention All-Americans on the 2001 Football Gazette NCAA Division II All-America team.

Janson, a 6-0, 205-pound senior outside linebacker, had a tremendous season leading Clarion's defense in 2001. A first team PSAC-West choice, he was second in the entire PSAC with 104 tackles, first in sacks with 11 (-75 yards) and in fumbles caused with 4 and second in tfl's with 18 (-85). He also tallied 3 fumble recoveries and 3 broken-up passes. Chris was also selected as PSAC-West "Defensive Player of the Week" vs Kutztown and Lock Haven. A 2000 red-shirt, he posted 90 tackles, 2 tfl's, 3 break-ups, 2 interceptions and 1 fumble caused and recovered in 1999 at strong safety.

In 1998 he had 68 hits, 2 interceptions, 3 break-ups and 2 tfl's. He also started the final 4 games of 1997 at quarterback and led Clarion to three straight wins to finish the season. He finished his career with 262 tackles (114 solo), 22 tfl's, 11 sacks, 9 pass break-ups, 5 fumbles caused, 4 interceptions and 4 fumbles recovered. The son of Robert and Debbie Janson of Lansdale, Pa., Chris is a Business-Management major at Clarion.
