Message from the New President
As the incoming President of the North Penn Athletic Association I am honored to have the opportunity to continue the work that has been demonstrated by our organization’s founders and previous boards.
I would be remiss, if I did not take a moment and thank our previous President, Steve Cameron for his courageous leadership. In short Steve took the NPAA organization and placed it squarely on his back. His dedication, commitment and attention to detail has successfully steered our organization from declining registrants and financial instability to an organization that is enjoying its largest number of registered members for Football, Cheerleading and Basketball. Additionally Steve has led our organization to a solid financial foundation. I would also like to thank our previous board members for their contributions Specifically Diane Baker, Secretary and resident Snack Bar General Manager, Joe Pluck our previous treasurer and current groundskeeper.
It’s with great pleasure that I introduce the incoming board members to our community. They are:
Tom Rinck -- President
Patrick Shipley -- Vice President
Melissa Niedosik -- Secretary
Joe Jefferson -- Athletic Director
Steve Cameron -- Treasurer
I want to thank our new board members in advance for the time and energy that will be put in place to "continue the momentum." This diverse group of thinkers will continue to keep the Squires vision statement of "better sportsmen today, better citizens tomorrow" front and center of all decisions and build upon our heritage within the community.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to your new board members.
Go Squires!
Tom Rinck
President--North Penn Athletic Association
Welcome to the 2008 Football Season
On behalf of the entire Executive Board of the North Penn Athletic Association, I would like to welcome you to the 2008 North Penn Squires football and cheerleading season. With all the physical changes to our field and our building, our improved equipment, as well as the significant increase in our registrations this year, we are confident that this season will be an exciting one for everyone. We have many special family events planned in addition to our exciting football games.
We appreciate the trust that you have placed in our organization, and our goal is to provide you and your child with a great experience. We understand that you have choices in this community with regards to youth sports and we intend to prove that you have made the best choice by joining or returning to the Squires family in 2008.
Our dedicated volunteers have made or in the process of making some much needed improvements for you and your child.
-
Last year our practice field was converted to be a full-length football field enabling us to play our games there and at Pennbrook Middle School's renovated field this year. We now have two fields for both practices and games right next to each other.
-
The Squires building that houses our Snack Bar and office has being renovated to better serve our growing needs. The entire first floor serves as our Snack Bar with a serving window facing the practice/game field. The second floor now has a multi-purpose room and is available for our monthly meetings, film reivew sessions, and other football and cheerleading activities.
-
We have once again upgraded our football equipment, including shoulder pads, helmets, and practice uniforms.
-
Our growing cheering program will be getting needed uniform improvements as well.
Football and Cheerleading practice starts on Monday, August 4th. Most of you have registered and picked up your equipment. If you have not registered, you can still do so in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays in July or during practices Monday through Thursday in August or online at www.northpennsquires.com before the end of August.
You will also be receiving a Parent Pack. It contains all the information you need to get started this season, including the forms that we will need returned:
-
Medical Form--please use this form or another one from you child's physician to show that your child has had a physical in the past 12 months.
-
Parents Code of Conduct and Players Code of Conduct--please review yourself and with your child, sign and return.
-
Photo Envelope--on Tuesday and Thursday, September 16 and 18, team and individual photos will be taken by SNAP! Please hold on to this envelope for ordering your photos at that time.
Most importantly, we want your child AND YOU to have FUN being part of the North Penn Squires. While we request that you volunteer your time to help with the Snack Bar, field maintenance, coaching, announcing, game day duties, etc., we want you have fun while you do it. And we'll be announcing shortly some other fun events for parents and children alike.
It's going to be an action-packed year of football! Please do not hesitate to speak to me or any member of the Executive Board, coaches, commissioners, or other parents about what we can do to enhance your Squires experience. We look forward to a fun and rewarding 2008 and thanks once again for being a part of the Squires family.
Thanks,
Tom
