Message from the President
On behalf of the North Penn Squires, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that was involved in the 2010 season. In all, we have had a lot of success in the development and growth of our young athletes. The North Penn Squires will continue working on building the organization to a level of satisfaction and ensuring that student athletes are getting the best quality of care both on and off the field. The board members of the North Penn Squires have looked at the pros and cons of the 2010 season and have worked to create strategies and ways to improve this upcoming year.
The board has come together to support the new theme for the 2011 season: COMMUNICATION and CHANGE. Communication between the organization and our participants about our expectations of playing time as well as the overall progress of our athlete’s performance is a priority. Further, all of our dedicated coaches will continue to support and improve the Squires by attending at least one coaching clinic to find out new ways to improve their coaching tactics. Moreover, we would ask that student athletes are dedicated to the program by attending practice and games throughout the entire season. It is very difficult for us to ask coaches to play children who are not attending practice on a regular basis.
We, as an organization are committed to change and holding onto the strong tradition that we have had for the past 35+ years. Your support in helping to make this organization improve is necessary. We do understand that at times it can be difficult to help out in ways other than transporting our athletes to practices and games, however, we are continuously seeking volunteers to assist in the entire Squires experience on and off of the field. Our organization is based on volunteerism. We need your help.
If there are things that you would like to see implemented differently, please offer some of your time to become part of our success. Each month, we hold a board meeting and have conversations around improving the organization; everyone is welcome to attend. This is a means to help change and reshape the program. Please consider helping the organization and reaching out to those who may have left us in the past. As an incentive, for every new registrant that a returning player brings to the organization, $25.00 will be deducted from your registration fee up to $75.00. This is a way not only to bring depth to the organization, but a way to help build our organization into a more fun and exciting place to experience football.
I would like to thank everyone for helping us reshape this organization and continue to help become part of our success. It takes the efforts of the entire Squires family to help reestablish the continual success of our future. The 2011 Football and Cheerleading registration form is available online in the Handouts section. Online registration is also available March 15th with various links on the home page. We will also have in person registration mid-April and mid-May at the field house.
Many thanks,
Ken Smeltzer and the Executive Board of the North Penn Squires
