Squires Awarded $10,000 PA State Grant
In 2008, State Senator Stewart Greenleaf has again sponsored the North Penn Athletic Association for a $10,000 grant from the State of Pennsylvania's Department of Community and Economic Development. The grant, which was received in November 2008, was requested in May 2008. The money is earmarked for additional Squires building improvements which rounds out our three-phased improvement plan started in 2005. Senator Greenleaf presented the check at the Cameron Fieldhouse dedication ceremony on November 8th. Senator Greenleaf noted that he enjoys sponsoring these grants because they allow non-profits three or four-fold improvements since organizations like the Squires can multiply the benefits through "sweat equity." Thanks to Senator Greenleaf, who was presented with a Squires pullover jacket and declared a "North Penn Squire for life" by President Tom Rinck.
In the photo above, from left to right, President Tom Rinck, State Senator Stewart Greenleaf, Treasurer Steve Cameron, Football Commissioner Scott Clark, and in front 90 lb player Remy Reeves.
