Sponsor for NOSO Cup will be CEDAR POINT

Volunteers still needed for NOSO Cup.

Announcements:

CEDAR POINT will sponsor NOSO Cup, discount tickets available for 15 students, 1 free supervisor ticket.

Important Dates:

June 1: Registration ends for NOSO Cup Tournament

June 1-5 Boys and Girls Travel Tryouts for Fall 2009 (schedule posted on website)

June 15-19: NOSO Soccer Camp

July 4-5: NOSO Cup Tournament

July 11-12: Kick-It 3v3 Tournament

Miguel Cora, President:

  1. ? Still working on trophy case for Rec center
  2. ? city to work on drainage problems on back fields
  3. ? received approval from city for improvements to the shed/bathroom areas
  4. ? Reverse Raffle was not well attended
  5. ? Jackie Becker in attendance to make a request that the board consider paying fees for her son, Max to attend an ODP camp. In the past NOSO has paid some or all of the fees involved with such programs. The fee will be approximately $600.00.

Marty Hayes, Director of In-House:

  1. ? Trophies have been ordered, ABC will laser the logo
  2. ? consider raising cost for paper registration, in order to enticed people to use online registration.
  3. ? Is medical waiver available online for both in-house and travel? Jackie Becker: all coaches need to have an original at will them at all times in case of emergency. Emergency room will not treat w/out the original signed copy. Coaches should give to parents to sign at first practice.
  4. ? All in-house coaches registered with OYSAN.
  5. ? Asked Pete if there is an evaluation form available for coaches to evaluate referees. Some referees have been no shows. Need to call Pete if this happens.

Tom Hatfield, Director of Tournaments:

  1. ? Volunteers needed for NOSO Cup still needed in all areas including:
  2. ? individual team registration
  3. ? scorekeepers
  4. ? site coordinators
  5. ? age group coordinators
  6. ? Age groups still looking for teams, deadline for registration is June 1st

Walter: Excalibur teams have players on NOSO Travel rosters as well, hard to get enough players to field teams b/c NOSO teams are entered in the tournament as well.

NOSO camp conflicts with camp @ Sportsplex, need to try and avoid conflict next year.

Matt Steinmetz, Director of Fields:

  1. ? No Report

Dave Saunders, Advisory:

  1. ? Working on DVD for NOSO Cup, past and present photos needed
  2. ? Reviewing constitution, positions voting vs. nonvoting, probably have too many board members.
  3. ? Looking for anyone to help with this process, Pete will help

Pam Kronz, Director of Travel:

  1. ? Travel coaches are listed above
  2. ? Travel tryout dates have been set, will be posted on website

John Loftus, Boys Travel Director:

Cindy Salazar/Rachel Dunn, Girls Travel Co-Director:

Walter Schlothauer, Excalibur:

  1. ? Paid for permit to use fields, no refund available for days not fields not used in March. Miguel, city did not close field, it was NOSO’s opinion fields were not in good condition.
  2. ? Fee structure on NORC website for permits different that what NOSO has been charging Excalibur. Miguel will look into the discrepancy.
