Northwood Hockey League: Welcome
|
| Welcome to 'Our House'! |
The Northwood Hockey League features a recreational league for boys & girls aged 5 to 11. No body contact is allowed. Ice time is guaranteed equal. Brothers and sisters play on the same team. Goalie equipment is supplied. Our games are held Saturday and Sunday afternoons at the FW Gardens. We also have other fun events like our Annual Christmas Skating Party, Awards Banquet, and every player receives a trophy when he scores his or her first goal or shutout.
Fun on and off the ice since 1970.

If your child is sick the best thing they can do for the team is to stay home. Yes the team needs them, but bringing your cold or flu to the dressing room may hurt the team next weekend if three more kids end up being sick.
We have supplied every player with a water bottle and have put their names on them. Make sure the name stays visible. It will be your responsibility to bring the bottle back and forth to the games and clean them. Filling it with water before you leave the house might be best. Please remind your player not to share his or her bottle with anyone and not to drink from any others. Please DO NOT leave the bottle in the equipment bag! If you forget the bottle at home, purchase a bottled water from the vending machines in the lobby. Coaches will not have extras.
One of our assistant coaches is a doctor and his advice is:
(1) get vaccinated
(2) don't return to hockey or other activities until feeling well, free of fever for 24 hours without medication and eating again.
We have collected a few articles to assist in dealing with H1N1 and these will be distributed to every family.

I have received the upcoming bingo dates for the next few months and I am in desperate need of volunteers for the Northwood Hockey League Bingos. As you may be aware they run all year round, we are unable to pick and choose our dates, we are given usually 2 bingos per month. Northwood Hockey League has been able to keep the costs of registration fees down because these bingos covers most of the ice rental fees ($120 per hour). Each bingo takes approximately 4 hours and the time indicated is the times that I need you to be there, this is when we start selling our cards.
Please let me know if you able to come out and assist us along with the date available.Thank you very much, looking forward to your responses.
