UNLV DAY
    Welcome to Your New Northwest Girls Softball League!  
We are still accepting registrations for the 2010 Spring Season for 6U (CLOSED) -- 8U (CLOSED)-- 10U (4 SPOTS)-- 12U (4SPOTS)-- 14U (3 SPOTS), and 16U waiting on returning high school girls.  Please CONTACT the Players advocate for questions Please keep recruiting and THANK YOU FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

ATTENTION--FIELDS are shut down due to weather (Monday February 8th).  If it is not raining, they are still shut down---SORRY.  I am booking my teams a cage-see some of you at the cages. 

NEW--COACHES AND PLAYERS---Next week we will lose some fields to a College Tournament.  It will be a great time to watch some awesome games.  As of now we lose some upper fields on Wednesday February 10th, but the college girls will give us a player’s clinic with LIMITED spots.  On Friday and Saturday February 12th and 13th we are losing all 12 fields.  We have a few back up fields (Lied, Cragin, Flamingo) for practices.  Contact Michelle Benoit for a practice time.  Check back soon for updates.

We have been given a great opportunity by the Montana State University Billings softball team!  They will be in town for next weekend’s tournament at Majestic and would like to host a player’s clinic for us.  This will be done on Wednesday, February 10th at Majestic.  They will provide approximately 40 coaches and players to assist in this.  They will offer a fielding clinic to all 6U and 8U teams that would like to participate from 6 – 7 pm on field #4 CHECK IN AT 5:30-5:55pm.  They are also offering a clinic to players in 10u, 12u and 14/16U on field’s #1, #2, #3 from 6 – 9 pm CHECK IN AT 5:30-5:55pm.  These players will be broken down into their divisions and receive 1 ½ hours of hitting instruction and then 1 ½ hours of defense/pitching/catching instruction.  This is a great opportunity for your players to receive excellent instruction from a great university program!  Please have your players come prepared with all of their necessary gear (helmets, bats, gloves, cleats, sliders, catching gear if needed, etc.)  Please notify your division rep and/or Lori at fourcoolchicks@cox.net asap so that MSU can be prepared for the number of girls involved.  Please visit the clinics page for the Flyer.

It was a Beautiful day at the field.  NWGS---ROCKS.  We had 107 girls, over 40 coaches, and 10 NWGS Board Members attend the UNLV clinic.

A special THANK YOU to Michelle Benoit and Danny Robbins (Wildcats 12U) for jumping in when needed and checking in the girls.  It was a FUN time.  If you have any questions or suggestions for the future please contact us via email or phone.  Be ready for the UNLV/NWGS game day.
