Welcome to the 09-10 6th grade girls Jr Titan program!  Here are the opening details for the our team:

Philosophy:  Develop the girls into better basketball players and teach them the concepts of basketball through practice and games at a high level of focus, skills, concentration and team play.  The goal is to develop skills for future Girls Varsity basketball players.
General Details:
    -  The league will start the week of October 26 and run through the middle of February
    -  We will practice 1-2/week, typically at the gym at River Trail but occassionally in the Aux gym at Northview.  We may even practice at the Sport Court at Seven Oaks.  These practices will typically be during the week.
    -  We will play approximately 26 games - 6 home, 6 away, 6 non-conference and 8 tournament.   The games are on the weekends.
    -  Home games will be at Suwanee, away games at various schools and tournament games typically in East Cobb
    -  Cost for the season - $400 plus a uniform deposit and gate fees at many of the games
    -  Tourneys - we will likely play in a Thanksgiving tourney, a XMAS or New Years tourney and a Year End tourney.    We have a little leeway here.
Size of the team:  prefer to carry 10 - 14 players, depending on skills
Offense and Defense philosophy:   We'll keep everyone moving in a motion offense and we'll have enough practice time to develop team play.  We'll run primarily man-to-man with an occasional zone defense for experience and ability to change looks.    We'll run the press and we'll need to break the press from the begining of the season.   Moving the ball, fast decisions, learning and knowing the floor will key points of emphasis.
Other sports:   Girls that play competitive Fall softball, volleyball, soccer and lacrosse are welcome.    We can work out a way to let them finish their Fall seasons (Jr Titan softball is over by Oct 26) but I'll need the same respect at the end of January and early February as we play our year end tournament.
