 | About Us - A brief history: After three generations of players and coaches the 18U North Texas Bees dissolved after the 2002 season. Our players moved on to college and I retired from coaching after 19 years in the dugout. The original team formed in the early 1980's as the "Richland Honeybees". The Honeybees were one of only a handful of fastpitch teams in Texas. Nearly all girls that played softball in Texas played slowpitch until the introduction of high school fastpitch in 1993. The team was renamed the "Bees" in the early 90's after a new staff took over. I acquired the team in 1997 and renamed it "North Texas Bees". The most successful season we had when I coached the team was in 1999. As a 16U ASA the team won the Fort Worth Metro Tournament, placed 3rd in the ASA Regional Tournament, and placed 2nd in the ASA National Tournament. I will maintain fastpitch drills, tips, and other related news on this site for the benefit of current and future fastpitch softball players, coaches, & fans. ~ Enjoy your visit. | |
