The goal of Nottingham Ice Hockey is to put competitive teams together and learn to excel at the game of hockey. The philosophy of the coaching staff is summed up by the acronym MOORE. M is for motivation because players need to be motivated in order to learn; O is for orientation - introducing concepts to players that will lead to future success in hockey and life; O is for observation - coaches observing players and players observing the game when not involved in the play; R is for repetition - running the same drills over and over until they are done right will build the foundation for strong play; and E is for extending knowledge - once the foundation is built, further instruction will mold the team into the champions that all players strive to be.

Hockey is a team game! One player can not carry a team to a championship! It takes a concerted effort from all players to succeed. Whether a four-year starter or a beginner player on the taxi squad, we expect 110% from players at all times.
