Severe Weather and Lightening Protocol Reminder:

The Board and Trustees of NRBB would like to clarify, for all involved, the protocol at city fields for hazardous weather safety.

York Road Complex - Includes York #1 - York #8

The Umpiring crew on York #4 (York #5 crew as backup) shall be the crew-in-chief for the complex. They shall enforce lightning and hazardous weather rules already in place for suspension of play.

This crew will inform the concession stand of the suspension. The concession stand will blow an air horn, thus suspending ALL games at York immediately.

Spectators, coaches, and players must pack their gear and immediately move to a place of safety.

City and National guidelines state that the appropriate place to go is to your car. The benches must be cleared, and the outdoor pavilion is not considered to be safe.

Unattended players should remain with the manager until a parent or guardian arrives.

All games will remain suspended until the bad weather passes and an "All clear" is declared.

If fields are playable then games will resume from the point of suspension. If fields are no longer playable then the rules currently in place will be applied to the suspended games to determine if they will be counted as complete or replayed.

Current NRBB rules require that suspended games that cannot be completed on the same night are "official" if they meet league guidelines for a complete game. If not, they are scheduled for replay in their entirety.

Games at other fields:

The Umpiring crew doing the game shall be in control of play once the game has started. They shall enforce lightning and hazardous weather rules already in place for suspension of play.
