Volunteer State Bank Player of The Week
This weeks Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week is Savannah Dalton & Evan Bell. Savannah is in 8th grade at Greenbrier Middle School. She plays for the Liberty in the middle school girls division & is coached by Ken Coleman. According to Coach Ken, "Savannah is a total team player, she is always looking to help her team in any way". Savannah finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals & 5 assist in the win over the Storm. "Savannah was a big contributing factor in our teams undefeated regular season", adds Coach Ken, "I look to see Savannah playing for Greenbrier High School next year." Congratulations to Savannah & the Liberty. Evan is in 6th grade at Meigs Magnet. He plays for the Mavericks in the middle school boys division & is coached by Joey Keef. Evan had 10 points in his teams 19-18 loss to the Bulls. Coach Joey states, "Evan also had over 10 rebounds, a number of assist & he is the heart of our team. He is averaging in double figures in points & rebounds per game". "Evan is one of the best all around players I have coached, not just in skill but in attitude & work ethic as well", adds Coach Joey. "Evan is the most improved player in his division, I believe he has a solid future in basketball if he continues to work hard", adds coach Joey. This weeks Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week is Shay Brown & Austin Wilkinson. Shay is in 6th grade at T. W. Hunter Middle School. She plays for the Fever in the middle school girls division & is coached by John Schneider. According to Coach John, "Shay plays hard on every possession & contributes in every aspect of the game". Shay finished with 5 points & numerous rebounds in the loss to the Storm. "Shay continues to be a team player and a strong defensive presence during most of our games", adds Coach John. Congratulations to Shay & the Fever. Austin is in 2nd grade at Hendersonville Christian Academy. He plays for the Hawks in the 1/2 grade boys division & is coached by Austin Bell. Austin had 10 points in his teams 16-12 win over the Thunder. Coach Austin states, "Austin also had 5 rebounds & is a hard worker for our team. He cares not only about winning but about our team as a whole". Austin is a super kid & he is always looking for ways to get better. Congratulations to Shay & Austin for being named the Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week.

This weeks Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week is Arnett Hayes & Jody Ewin. Arnett is in 1st grade at Nannie Berry Elementary. He plays for the Magic in the 1/2 grade boys division & is coached by John Scurlock. According to Coach John, "Arnett played a tough game & stayed under control attacking the basket". Arnett finished with 8 points, numerous steals & assist in the 21-16 win over the undefeated Bulls. "Today was a total team effort with all of our players contributing to the win", adds Coach John. With the win, Arnett helped to move his team into first place. Congratulations to Arnett & the Magic. Jody is in 4th grade at Stratton Elementary School. He plays for the Heat in the 3/4 grade boys division & is coached by Billy Blackmore. Jody had 14 points in his teams 22-14 win over the Mavericks. Coach Billy states, "Jody is an exceptional player & a super kid. He cares not only about winning but about our team as a whole". Jody has continued to help his team remain one of only three teams in the NNH to be undefeated. Congratulations to Arnett & Jody for being named the Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week.

This weeks Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week is Gracie Coleman & Rose Morrow. Gracie is in 7th grade at Davidson Academy. She plays for the Liberty in the middle school girls division & is coached by Tim Dalton. According to Coach Tim, "The greatest part of Gracie's game is her willingness to help the younger players". Gracie finished with 9 points, 5 rebounds & 8 assist in the 27-14 win over the Storm. "Gracie scored or assisted on all but 1 of the teams 27 points", adds Coach Tim. Gracie is averaging in double figures while leading her team to an undefeated 7-0 start. Congratulations to Gracie & the Liberty. Rose is in 4th grade at Stratton Elementary School. She plays for the Storm in the 3/4 grade girls division & is coached by Jennifer Johnson. Rose had 28 points in her teams 48-10 win over the Liberty that help put her team in first place. Coach Jennifer states, "Though she scored 28 points, she did so unselfishly. She's a natural player, with a never give up attitude. She puts her heart in the game and is a real team player". Congratulations to Gracie & Rose for being named the Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week.

This weeks Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week is Ava Clark & Ethan Sanchez. Ava is in 2nd grade at Beech Elementary School. She plays for the Liberty in the 1/2 grade girls division & is coached by Julie Alexander. According to Coach Julie, "Ava showed great leadership & determination today". Ava finished with all 20 points in a big 20-1 win over the Sparks while also doing a wonderful job at point guard. "I am very appreciative of her effort each week, she is a team player", adds Julie. Congratulations to Ava & the Liberty. Ethan is in 2nd grade at Station Camp Elementary School. He plays for the Bulls in the 1/2 grade boys division & is coached by Brian Hayes. Ethan had 7 points & 13 rebounds in the teams 30-8 win over the Grizzlies & his team continues to be undefeated thanks to his efforts. Coach Brian states, "Ethan is a key player on offense & defense, we call him "Big Man". "Ethan had 5 points & 14 rebounds in the previous week & is a complete team player", adds Brian. Ethan is a wonderful young man & always looking to involve his teammates. Congratulations to Ava & Ethan for being named the Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week.

This weeks Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week is Anastin Lee & Michael Barnard. Anastin is in 3rd grade at Madison Creek Elementary School. She plays for the Liberty in the 3/4 Grade Rec Girls Program & is coached by Ashley Gorley. According to Coach Ashley, "Anastin had been sick at the end of the week but really wanted to play." Anastin started strong in the first half after being sick, giving 100% to Coach Ashley. "I am especially proud of her performance because she had been sick and made it into the 2nd half before running out of gas," adds Ashley. Anastin finished with 10 points in a big 17-16 win over the Sun. Congratulations to Anastin & the Liberty. Michael is in 7th grade at T.W. Hunter Middle School. He plays for the Bulls in the Middle School Rec Boys Program & is coached by his grandfather, Coach Boots Scott. Michael had 14 points in the teams 27-9 win over the Bulls & his team continues to be undefeated thanks to his efforts. Coach Scott states, "Michael had many steals, assist & rebounds as well". He is the leader of the Spurs, plays point guard and is very efficient on offense and plays tough defense as well. Micheal plays with a positive attitude & is always looking to involve his teammates. Congratulations to Anastin & Michael for being named the Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week.

This weeks Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week is Braelyn Hancock & Jaxon Hayes. Braelyn is a 4th grader at Madison Creek Elementary School. She plays for the Sun in the 3/4 Grade Rec Girls Program & is coached by Melissa Stenzel. According to Coach Melissa. "Braelyn is a key player for us offensively and defensively because she makes things happen." Braelyn came back strong after losing her grandfather the day after Christmas. "I am especially proud of her performance because I specifically asked her to see the floor and look to dump the ball in to players in the lane & she did that over and over again yesterday", adds Melissa. Congratulations to Braelyn & the Sun. Jaxon is a 2nd grader at Madison Creek Elementary School. He plays for the Bulls in the 3/4 Grade Rec Boys Program & is coached by his father Brian Hayes. Jaxon had 10 points in the teams 18-13 win over the Lakers & his team continues to be undefeated thanks to his efforts. Coach Brian states, "Jaxon plays with a positive attitude & great determination". "Despite needing his inhaler between time spent on the court, he encouraged his teammates throughout the game & helped other players on his team when they needed direction", adds Brian. He also hit a buzzer beater at the end of the 2nd quarter to add to his big game efforts. Congratulations to Braelyn & Jaxon for being named the Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week.

This weeks Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week is Acacia Hayes & Caden Duke.  Acacia is a 3rd grader at Nannie Berry Elementary School. She plays for the Storm in the 3/4 Grade Rec Girls Program & is coached by Jennifer Johnson. Acacia was a key player in the 20-12 win vs. the Sun finishing with 14 points. Coach Jennifer states, "Acacia is the heart of our team, a true leader on the court with a great attitude". "She always gives 100% in practice & games", adds Jennifer. Congratulations to Acacia & the Storm.  Caden is a 4th grader at Coopertown Elementary School. He plays for the Grizzlies in the 3/4 Grade Rec Boys Program & is coached by Lyle Larson. Caden had 22 points in his teams win over the Thunder . His team finished with their first win thanks to his efforts. Coach Lyle states, "Caden always plays with a positive attitude and even though he scored 22, he played unselfishly". Caden also had multiple rebounds & steals along with a couple of assist.  Congrats Caden & the Grizzlies...an all around team player is hard to find. Congratulations to Acacia & Caden for being named the Volunteer State Bank Co-Player's of the Week.

This weeks Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week is Leanna Pearson & Jalen Cole.  Leanna is a 4th grader at Davidson Academy. Leanna plays for the Mercury in the 3/4 Grade Rec Girls Program & is coached by Kirk Wittington. Leanna was a key player in the come from behind win vs. the Storm. She was the difference in the game finishing with 8 points, 5 steals & 3 rebounds. Congratulations to Leanna & the Mercury.  Jalen is a young 7th grader at T.W. Hunter Middle School. Jalen plays for Stone Basketball Development in the 5/6 Grade Open Boys Program & is coached by Jeremiah McDonald. Jalen had a double-double on Saturday putting in 10 points & 10 rebounds. His team finished with a big win thanks to his efforts. Congrats Jalen...a double-double is difficult to pull off at your age. Congratulations to Leanna & Jalen for being named the Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week.

This weeks Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week is Ty Warren & Jude Browning.  Ty is a 4th grader at Davidson Academy. Ty plays for the Celtics in the 3/4 Grade Rec Boys Program.  He is coached by his father Mitch Warren. Ty put in 2 points for his team in a tough loss. He was playing a game less than 24 hours removed from his mom having surgery for cancer. What a Warrior! Please continue to keep Cathy, Mitch & their family in your prayers. Jude is a 1st grader at Goodpasture Christian School. Jude plays for the Thunder in the 1/2 Grade Rec Boys Program. He is coached by Marty Collins. Jude  put in 11 points in his first career basketball game. His team lost 12-11, yes he scored all 11! Congrats Jude...pretty good start to youth basketball. Congratulations to Ty & Jude for being named the Volunteer State Bank Co-Player of the Week.

This weeks Volunteer State Bank Player of The Week is Jay Fleming.  Jay is a 7th grader at T.W. Hunter Middle School in Hendersonville, TN.  Jay plays for the Bulls in the 5th-7th Grade Rec Boys program.  He is coached by his father Todd Fleming.  Jay is a hard working young man on and off the court.  We are lucky to have someone like Jay to inspire us daily with his effort and determination.  Congratulations Jay on being the first annual recipiant of the Volunteer State Bank Player of the Week.
