CORE GUIDELINE FOR CONDUCT AND SPORTSMANSHIP |
|||||
| It is our desire that all competition be conducted on the highest level and that every player, coach, parent and other member associated with the North Lacrosse Club shall emphasize, by word and action, the virtues of team spirit, healthy competition, and sportsmanship. |
| NLC Board Comment on Expectations for Conduct and Sportsmanship | |||||
| Participating in the North Lacrosse Club is a privilege. Being able to hold practices at any of the District 203 schools or Naperville Park District parks is a privilege. Having the opportunity to play our games at Benedictine University is a privilege. And with privileges come expectations – the highest of expectations. And if we do not individually and as a Club meet those expectations, privileges can be lost. We – all of us associated with the North Lacrosse Club – will be held to the highest level of sportsmanship and personal conduct and accountability. We expect all to know, understand and abide by our Code of Conduct. |

| DISTRICT 203 CO-CURRICULAR PARTICIPATION CODE |
Participation in co-curricular activities is a privilege and, as such, carries certain expectations. The important goals of the co-curricular activities are to offer participants direction in developing healthful living habits, discipline, leadership, teamwork, citizenship skills, and respect for structure, rules, and responsibilities. It is to these ends that a “Code” is established for those students choosing to take part in the co-curricular activities program. Every student who chooses or is chosen to be a participant in a co-curricular activity will be offered the opportunity to practice, and whenever possible, to participate in events, contests and activities relative to their demonstrated abilities. Important advantages of individual initiative, character, and teamwork can be developed only when there is team cooperation with established procedures. Team success without such cooperation is deemed impossible. The full text of the District 203 Co-curricular Participation Code is available here and on the Naperville North High School website. You and your parents should read and understand the Code, including the consequences if any part of the Code is violated, and should abide by both the letter and spirit of the Code while participating as a member of the North Lacrosse Club. You may download a copy of the Code at this link: Naperville North H.S. Athletics |

| ILLINOIS HIGH SCHOOL ASSOCIATION RULES AND BY-LAWS |
Lacrosse through the North Lacrosse Club is recognized as an “Emerging Sport” by Naperville North High School and the IHSA. As such, the Club and its members agree to abide by the various policies and by-laws of the IHSA. These rules include academic eligibility which is checked weekly by the Club. The IHSA also speaks to sportsmanship and other issues of personal conduct. Each of our members should be familiar with these policies. You may download a copy of the IHSA Policies at this link: IHSA Policies and the IHSA By-laws at this link: IHSA By-laws. |
