The North Georgia Barons Buckeye Elite Showcase Tournament 2011 Champions - 68 teams from throughout USA.

...Found out that the Ohio Heat were 34-7 going into the tourney; they had a 7 game winning streak & had won 13 of there last 14 games.....added info below, thier leadoff hitter, Becknec (ss) was batting .626 going into our game; he ended up going 0-4 and lined into a game ending DP (Wall, unassisted)

Barons Defense: 8 Errors in 7 games, only 1 in last 4 games; Bryce throws out six opponents trying to steal; 2 in one inning vs. Grand Rapids Diamond Classics (2nd inning, one @ second, one@ third); "Sea Bass" picks off 4 bases runners in 5 appearances!!! Kyle Jackson guns down runner @ third from deep center; numerous big plays in the infield including a barehander from Alex nipping a ruuner at first.....
Barons: Came from behind 5 times to win 5 games; Held the entire lead only twice...Game #2 vs Celtic Knights (4-0) & Championship Game # 7 vs Ohio Heat (11-0)

The North Georgia Barons are a competitive, independent travel baseball team (16U), in north metro Atlanta. Over the past four years, the North Georgia Barons have won numerous championships and other honors. The Barons Baseball program emphasizes advanced fundamentals, a complete understanding of the game and a strong work ethic. In the coming year, the Barons coaching staff will continue to provide a high level of instruction, while focusing on the best opportunities for our players to showcase their abilities. In the Spring of 2010 all Barons players made their respective High School Frosh, JV or Varsity baseball teams. We look forward to a productive Fall 2010 and Summer 2011 campaign.
