Northern Lights Little League: Divisions
Northern Lights Little League

AAA (ages 10 -11)
This is NL "NO STACK" division for baseball (10-11 year olds). Players will need to attend a "skills assessment" clinic. The goal of this division is to equally divide the talent pool, and give all players and teams an opportunity to succeed. Maximum playing time for all players is encouraged. Local travel is probable.

Majors (ages 10 -12) Tryout Required
10-12 year olds. Northern Lights' and Little League's most competitive division. All players wanting to participate at this level MUST attend at least 2 of the 4 tryouts. Half of the schedule could be played at away sites throughout metro Denver. A draft will be utilized to form teams, and playing time is determined using Little League guidelines.

Tee Ball (ages 5 - 7)
Little League allows us to start our T-Ball division at 5 years of age. It is a coed division for 5-7 year olds

Coach Pitch (ages 6 - 8)
A coed division for 6-8 year olds (6 yr olds must have 1 season experience in T-Ball). All pitches will be delivered by an adult, and modified rules will be applied.

A (ages 7 - 9)
Single A is available for baseball (7-9 year olds). This is the first introduction into player pitch. "A" is designed as a developmental league. Pitching at this level is done first by players, if the ball is not put into play, a coach will finish the at bat. This is a "NO WALK" division, and there is no travel involved. Modified rules are used to maximize player's success and skill development.

AA (ages 7 - 9) Tryout Required
This is the 1st Northern Lights division of "more competitive" baseball for 7-9 yr olds (not available for softball at this time). Players wishing to play in this division will need to attend try-outs. Play will follow all Little League rules with limited modifications. NL "AA" teams will have a limited travel schedule, and will play games against 9-10 yr olds from other leagues.

Juniors (ages 13 -14)
Teams are determined by number of regustrations. A try-out may be necessary, but is not planned at this time. Half of the schedule could be played at away sites. Juniors will attend a "skills assessment" clinic for team placement.

Seniors (ages 15 -16)
Teams are determined by number of registrations.

Big League (ages 16 -18)
Teams are determined by number of registrations.

Softball A (ages 7 -9)
