OVERVIEW

NCLL provides the following Little League Baseball and Softball opportunities.  See sidebar left for details, dates, deadlines, and other news and information.

Co-ed Tee-Ball (4*-6 Years Old).  An introductory program for children ages 4-6 (*must be 4 years old by 4/30/10). This is a basic introduction to skills for throwing, hitting and catching with hands. Children are introduced to the concepts of the game and there's a focus on keeping the children active and having fun.

Boys Machine Pitch Baseball (7-8 Years Old).   A league for children ages 7-8, including 6 year olds with one year of prior experience. A pitching machine will be used for the entire season. Children will continue to learn more about the game including some advanced skills and strategies.

Girls Ponytail Coach Pitch Softball (7-8 Years Old).  A league for children ages 7-8, including 6 year olds with one year of prior experience. The coaches do the pitching for the entire season. Children continue to learn more about the game including some advanced skills and strategies.

Minors Baseball (9-10 Years Old).  A league for children ages 9-10, including 8 year olds with one year of Machine or Coach-Pitch experience. Children will pitch for the entire season. Children will continue to learn more about the game including some advanced skills and strategies of the game.

Minors Softball (9-10 Years Old).  A league for children ages 9-10, including 8 year olds with one year of Machine or Coach-Pitch experience. Children will pitch for the entire season (after ball four, the coach pitches). Children will continue to learn more about the game including some advanced skills and strategies of the game.

Majors Baseball and Softball (11-12 Years Old).  An option for children ages 11-12, including 9-10 year olds on a tryout basis. Children will pitch for the entire season. Children will continue to learn more about the game including advanced skills and strategies of the game.

New Baseball Division for 2010 Little League has given us the option to try a pilot program for 12 and 13 year old baseball players. We will offer games this year with 70’ base paths and a pitching distance of 50’. These games will be in addition to the regular season Major or Junior programs. Leading and stealing will also be allowed for these games. Participation in this program will still allow the child to be eligible for all stars in the respective division. Details need to be worked out, but if you are interested in this program, please sign-up via email to lhull@varcomac.com. We will notify you once this is established.

Boys Juniors Baseball (13-15 Years Old).  A league for children ages 13-16, including 12 year olds on a tryout basis. Children will pitch for the entire season. Children will continue to learn more about the game including advanced skills and strategies of the game.

Girls Seniors Softball (13-16 Years Old).  A league for children ages 13-16, including 12 year olds on a tryout basis. Children will pitch for the entire season. Children will continue to learn more about the game including advanced skills and strategies of the game.

Girls Big League Softball (15-18 Years Old).  A more competitive league for children ages 15-18.  Children will continue to learn more about the game including advanced skills and strategies of the game.  The Big League Softball team(s) generally will play games throughout Southern Maryland once the High School season is completed.
