Compliance with Washington Concussion and Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Laws

In order to be in compliance with both with the Zackery Lystedt Law (HB 1824) and the Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Awareness Act (SB 5083), all players and guardians/parents need to review the Concussion Information and Sudden Cardiac Awareness Information Sheets located in the Handouts section of our site.

All parents/guardians and athletes must sign our acknowledgment form indicating you have received, read, and understood the Concussion and SCA information sheets.

ON FIELD VOLUNTEERS - Coach Training and Certificate of Completion Every Three Years - every three years, each On Field Volunteer must complete an online sudden cardiac arrest prevention program and submit a certificate showing completion of the program to the club/association. Until the State of Washington has its own training, it has been recommended that we use the National Federation of State High School Associations (NHFS) online training. The training takes approximately 15 minutes and is available for free at https://nfhslearn.com/courses/61032

Also, Please consider having your player participate in this FREE program, Young Champions Teen Heart Screenings by PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.
