Why We Do What We Do

NBYS dedicates itself to the education and environment conducive to developing character and athletic skills. We currently have 6 sports programs that provide a fun environment to learn the fundamentals and improve existing physical skills while creating an enjoyable family experience that benefits our players, parents and community.


Student Athlete - There's More to Life Than Being a Player - At NBYS we stress the importance of hard work and education. These student athletes serve as role models on and off the field; in turn they play an essential role in our schools and communities.

·         Grit by overcoming personal challenges in their lives related to their families, schools or communities

·         Potential by participating in college readiness programs and seeking out academic rigor

·         Ambition by dreaming of obtaining a college degree



Criteria for Application

To be eligible to apply for the North Boone Youth Sports scholarship, you must meet the below listed criteria:

·         Participated in a NBYS Sports Program or volunteered for a NBYS Sports Program

·         Graduating from North Boone High School this academic year

·         Earning a minimum of a 3.0 GPA

·         Planning to enroll full-time in a higher education institution in the fall directly after your graduation from high school

·         Individual determination to succeed



How to Apply

Complete application along with a short essay. Essay should be about how NBYS has influenced your character, whether through sports or volunteering. Once submitted, all applications will be assessed by a group of NBYS Board Members. You will be asked to provide proof of GPA and College acceptance letter or equivalent.



Important dates

·         January 1, 2016 — Application opens

·         March 1, 2016 — Application deadline

·         April 1, 2016 — NBYS Scholarship award announced



The application will ask about the following:

·         Information about your future plans for college

·         We don’t focus on just your grades, but how you have prepared yourself for college

·         We will ask for a list of activities and club involvement

·         We do ask for a drive to push yourself to earn a bachelor’s degree
