Norse knocked out of state tournament
At Saugatuck in the regional opener, the Aggies used a seven-run sixth inning to break open a tight 2-1 game and take a 9-1 lead. NM responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning but could get no closer. As was the case most of the year, too many walks and untimely errors were the difference. Three Norse pitchers combined to walk 12 while the defense committed four errors as only three of the 11 Beal City runs were earned. Robin Wiggins (6-7), who struck out eight in five innings, had two run-scoring doubles. Patrick Rapson added a single, a double and two runs.
