1st Game summarys...
rough 1st game for the Blue Devils 3A Senior Team.. taking a 7 to 3 loss. It started pretty good with no score in the 1st period and Norcross taking a 2-0 lead in the 2nd . But a rash of penalties and some shorthanded scoring by Shiloh cost us the lead and finally the game. Our young 2A team also had a tough loss Sat. night against Pace Academy 10-2 .. BUT their 2nd game on Sunday nite they had a great come back after trailing 3-0 vs Northview, scoring 5 and WINNING 5 to 4. Congrats to the Team and to the goal getters: Jericho Nasser / Kyle Jennings / Ben Fraser and 2 for Taylor Peet!!!

Last PlayOff Game for 2005-2006 Season
Yes, Sadly the Blue Devils Season has come to an end. Our last playoff game ended with a hardfought loss to Forsyth Central 6 to 3. Our opponents knew they had to take out our best players and even though some of the Blue Devils swapped jerseys as a little trick, you can tell by the photo it didn't work for very long. Keeping us tangled up in rough play, put our team leaders in the penalty box for a combined time of over 10 minutes!! Yes fans that's an entire period / one third of the Game!! and Forsyth managed to sore each time we were benched. The Blue Devils skated very well and I saw the most concentrated play of the season, by the NHS boys during the 2nd period. The Guys can be proud of their accomplishments this year and we look forward to next season as being even BETTER !! Thanks to all the Players, Coach Jeff, Parents and Fans for a lot of exciting Hockey !!

Final Season Games went like This...
SEASON ENDING GAMES:
Yeah we were expecting maybe 10 and 4 for this season.. but these last 4 games were really tough. Saturday night Feb. 25th vs Division Leader Parkview, was played with a "guest" Goalie as our own Josh Crowe attended to his talents with the violin in Savannah. Even so the NHS boys hung in there pretty well, as a disallowed goal by the Blue Devils in the 2nd period would've brought us to within 1. Sunday nite was even more exciting, as the Boys got off to a quick start, leading Walton Silver by 2 goals in the first few minutes of the game. Then maybe what happened next, fortold the way things were to fall for the Boys in Blue as we put the puck in our own net... giving the opponets a goal that we tried hard to get back in the last few seconds of the game, to no avail. With Josh back in nets, we had to pull him in the last minute with the Devils down 5 to 4... it got really wild with shots and chances of pulling it out.. fans / parents screaming.. but Walton got a "empty netter" as the horn sounded to end the regular season. Thanks Guys for an exciting Season of Hockey. Now on to the Playoffs !! Let's find the old winning ways again !!

Notes on THE MOST UGLY HOCKY GAME OF THE SEASON
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
A note from your coach about the Nasty Centennial Game:
Norcross Hockey Parents and Fans,
I want to thank all of you for your great behavior Saturday night vs. an unruly crowd. It is sad that a small group of punks can ruin the good family fun of a high school inline hockey game by being rude and uncouth. I do appreciate your behavior and tolerance in such situations. I also thought it was quite entertaining the warm Norcross round of applause given to the officials for kicking out the unruly fans. As a reminder please be courteous and positive Norcross Supporters. There is no need for negative taunting, slanderous remarks, or offensive language in such an environment. You also are a reflection of our team!! Please remind anyone (Norcross Friendly) who may be getting a little rowdy that it is a high school inline hockey game and we are here for positive support!!
I thank you for your support and class,
Coach Childers

ALL-STAR GAME LET DOWN !!!
Well the Night started with the usual FUN.. Skills competition / Racing / Shooting/ Break Away Shots... With Our own Josh Crowe winning the "Top Goalie" award!!
And even when the game started, the "White" team led by Blue Devils #13 Tyler Herrin and #4 James Sarrio with Josh Crowe in Nets, had a pretty good thing going with a 3 to 1 lead. Well of course the other 2 goalies for "White" had to play and before it was over we had a 3 to 3 tie! OK a 5 min. overtime and STILL a Tie !! Here's where it should have ENDED. Fair enough. BUT ..OK a shootout... that would be fun.. what kid doesn't want to have a turn in an AllStar ShootOut? Of course they ALL do.. that's the problem... The Ref says both teams have 3 goalies, so there will be 6 shooters / 2 for each goalie. Fair enough.. Here's where it doesn't STAY fair... The White Coach (you may know him...) let's call him Jed, picks some shooters but some cry babies (NOT from NHS) (Other schools on the White team) ALL want a turn and that coach we called Jed, he let's the KIDS fight it out for a position by themselves... So in that CHAOS .. NO Blue Devil gets to shoot in the 6!! HOLD ON PARTNER... EXCUSE ME..
BUT with NO Parkview (the leading team in the standings as of the AllStar Game) players on that White Team (they were on the Dark Team).. That makes NORCROSS the #1 Team on that Squad at the time of the AllStar Game !!... NOW DON'T YOU THINK THAT the Leading Scorer from the Leading Team SHOULD get a Dang Shot in the SHOOT OUT?? Wait it gets better.. I mean Worse.. even after the 6 shooters from what ever teams they came from had a chance.. it was STILL TIED !! We went to round 2 of a shoot out.. and thru some misUnderstanding with the Ref (we thought 6 More were gonna shoot but didn't) only NHS'James Sarrio even got a chance. Now that Leading Goal getter for the Blue Devils (#13 on the roster) happens to be a relative of mine... so you know where I'm coming from...
IF.. we only had SOMEONE to control that whole mess... I heard a rumor there was a beer on the line for the winning COACH... In that respect, White deserved the LOSS.
