On June 1st, Easton pitcher Aaron Barry threw the league's first no-hitter of the season when he beat Wilson 3-1.  He struck out 11 while walking 3 in his outstanding performance.

On Thursday, May 28th, Nazareth beat the Birches 6-2.  It was the 400th career NORCO victory for manager Frank Jurasits, just 4 days shy of his 74th birthday.  Congratulations!!!!

On Sunday, June 28th Lehigh West Bethlehem will honor their late former Manager John Fenstermacher at Lehigh West Bethlehem's Field of Dreams prior to the game vs. the Wanderers.  The ceremony is to recognize all that John Fenstermacher had done for Lehigh West Bethlehem Legion Baseball and the Lehigh Sports Association.  There will be a pre-game ceremony honoring John.  More information will be announced as we get closer to that day.  Please mark your calendars.  Gametime is 5:30 and the ceremony will be held prior to the game.

****NEWS****

Northampton lost to East Stroudsburg Wednesday night 4-2 in the league's rgular season finale.  However, the real importance of this game is that it was the last game for manager Joe Schneider after 28 years at the helm.  Joe is the only manager in league history to win 3 straight league titles which he accomplished from 1993-95.  Besides turning out some outstanding ball players such as Duane Filchner, Erik Ruff and current New York Met Brian Schneider, Joe always turned out teams who played with class and respect for the game.  It has been an honor to play aginast you, coach against you and to simply know you as a person.  You have been a positive influence on this league for a long time and your presence will be sorely missed.  Congratulations, Joe, on a wonderful career!!!

Pictures from Joe's last game are available courtesy of East Stroudsburg manager Kevin Hezel.   Click on ALBUMS to view.

These are only needed for new managers in the upcoming 2007 season. Those who completed theirs last year will not need to renew until the 2008 season.

Northampton County Legion is the first Legion Baseball League in the country which is requiring all Managers to successfully complete the criminal history and child abuse background checks in order to coach in the league. We hope to set precedence for all of Legion Baseball to soon follow!
