THE NEW LEAGUE AGE GROUPS BEING CONSIDERED ARE A 13-14 SENIOR LEAGUE AND 15-17 HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE OR A 11-13 INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE AND A 14-17 YEAR OLD SENIOR LEAGUE. In May and June there is a chance of thunderstorms almost every afternoon. If the athletic office has not made a decision by 4:00pm on weekdays and by 8:00am on Saturdays then teams are expected to show up at the field. The referees and coaches can get together and decide whether or not a field is playable or if current conditions will allow a game to continue. Do not assume that just because it is raining where you are that it is also raining throughout the city.
** There are NO PETS allowed on game or practice fields at any time. Please tell your parents to leave the family pet at home during your practices and games. Everyone makes the same statement about how well mannered and obedient their pet is compared to others but the bottom line is you can never predict when an animal will run on the field, use the bathroom, or feel threatened by a person or other animal enough to bite or act unruly.
Schedules, scores, and standings are posted for all NNPR leagues. Click any league above for more detailed information. COACHES PLEASE CALL IN OR EMAIL YOUR SCORES, WIN OR LOSE. THIS HELPS MAINTAIN ACCURATE STANDINGS.
Anything posted on this website is for informational purposes only. Please call 591-4892 for official updates on weather cancellations, make-up schedules, or inaccurate scores/standings (jsykes@nngov.com).
Welcome to the Newport News Youth Soccer webpage. This site is maintained by the Newport News Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department. The youth soccer program currently fields over 80 teams and 1,300 participants.
It is my hope that this website will become an interactive and informative area to all soccer families in Newport News. We will be working throughout the season to develop this site and include as much soccer related information as possible. I will include links to any and all local soccer interests, including recreation, select, high school, and college teams. Rules, standings, and regular league updates for parents and coaches will be available. Daily news on weather related field closures may be available as well as other important soccer related information. Please email me with any ideas for additions and improvement you may have.
