FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10: READ IMPORTANT INFO BELOW.

**  Please pick up and discard trash in the proper place at all city athletic fields.

** Coaches please make sure your players (and parents) are aware of the no jewelry rule, which includes hair beads and starter earrings.

** Junior, Junior Girls, and Intermediate Girls are all playing 11 a side now instead of the 9 a side from previous seasons.  All leagues (except Bantam and Mite) are playing halves, not quarters.  This will help the officials keep the rules straight in all age groups.  Coaches CANNOT agree before a game to play quarters instead of halves.

**  Bantam League and Mite League do not keep standings.  There should be NO reason to yell at the officials or the opposing team in any age group, but especially in our yougest divisions where both the players and the referees are learning the game.

**   A zero tolerance rule is in effect for poor sportsmanship and unacceptable parent, player, and coach behavior.  Please do not use perceived bad officiating or any other excuse as the reason for acting improperly in front of children participating in the program.  Coaches, parents, and players can be removed from the program at any time.

**  There are NO PETS allowed on game or practice fields at any time.  Please tell your parents to leave the family pet at home during your practices and games.  Everyone makes the same statement about how well mannered and obedient their pet is compared to others but the bottom line is you can never predict when an animal will run on the field, use the bathroom, or feel threatened by a person or other animal enough to bite or act unruly.

Schedules, scores, and standings are posted for all NNPR leagues. Click any league above for more detailed information. COACHES PLEASE CALL IN OR EMAIL YOUR SCORES, WIN OR LOSE. THIS HELPS MAINTAIN ACCURATE STANDINGS.
Anything posted on this website is for informational purposes only. Please call 591-4892 for official updates on weather cancellations, make-up schedules, or inaccurate scores/standings (jsykes@nngov.com).

Welcome to the Newport News Youth Soccer webpage. This site is maintained by the Newport News Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department. The youth soccer program currently fields over 80 teams and 1,300 participants.

It is my hope that this website will become an interactive and informative area to all soccer families in Newport News.  We will be working throughout the season to develop this site and include as much soccer related information as possible. I will include links to any and all local soccer interests, including recreation, select, high school, and college teams. Rules, standings, and regular league updates for parents and coaches will be available. Daily news on weather related field closures may be available as well as other important soccer related information. Please email me with any ideas for additions and improvement you may have.
