Registration Information for Spring 2012 We had a great information and registration meeting on November 15. The PowerPoint presentation can be downloaded from the Handouts link on the left. We are still accecpting registrations! If you are interested in playing please contact Coach Kirk at coachkirk28@gmail.com. The 2012 season is just around the corner and there’s still so much to do! In order for us to get a good start, there are, as always, several different forms that we’ll need you to complete. We have included a helpful checklist to assist you in keeping all this information in order. The checklist will let you know which forms are mandatory or optional, provides due dates, and any payment information that may be required. The forms, the checklist and other great information can be found on the Handouts link on the left of this web page. Club fees for the 2012 season are $445. Payment is due on February 1, 2012. For those of you who are looking for a way to offset the cost of club fees, NNHS Women’s Lacrosse has a Corporate Sponsorship Program which offers local businesses the opportunity to have a sponsorship page in our banquet program, special emails to team families and a plaque with the team’s picture. More information about this opportunity can be found in the Handouts section of this website. Thinking of getting a new stick? Here are some suggestions for buying a new stick: The ones found online will be a better buy, try going to a store (Dicks, Sports Authority) and check out their selection then search for those online. Here are some sites I have used and recommend: http://www.lacrossemonkey.com/her-index.html http://www.longstreth.com/LACROSSE/departments/1345/ http://www.lax.com/womens.phtml What to look for in a stick: Low Sidewalls Type of Pocket- Avoid solid, non-adjustable pockets (for example, Brine Paramount, DeBeer Gripper, Brine TXP. Please also look at this pocket and this one, I do not know what it is called but please avoid it. I see many sticks with this pocket at local stores. The STX Runway is a great pocket. There are pockets which have more complex pockets. These pockets will take more ongoing maintenance, but will be better to cradle, catch and throw with. There are different shafts as well, but I think the pocket is most important! Some recommendations: These are links for complete sticks. If just buying a head they will be cheaper. The STX sticks all have the pockets I recommend. STX Crux 10 $150 http://www.lacrossemonkey.com/stx-lacrosse-complete-stik-crux-10.html ST X Crux $100 http://www.lacrossemonkey.com/stx-lacrosse-complete-stick-crux.html STX Ntrance $85 http://www.lacrossemonkey.com/stx-lacrosse-complete-stick-ntrance.html STX Nove $50 http://www.lacrossemonkey.com/stx-lacrosse-womens-complete-stick-nova-myth1.html STX Level $40 http://www.lacrossemonkey.com/stx-lacrosse-complete-stick-level.html
The Brine sticks come with the pockets I suggested to avoid. But here are some options: Brine Amonte II $120 http://www.lacrossemonkey.com/brine-lacrosse-amonte-colored-womens-complete-stick.html Brine Amonte $100 http://www.lacrossemonkey.com/brine-lacrosse-complete-stick-womens-amonte.html Brine Anthem $70 http://www.lacrossemonkey.com/lacrosse-brine-womens-stick-anthem.html Brine Mynx $50 http://www.lacrossemonkey.com/brine-lacrosse-stick-mynx.html Brine Pixie $30 http://www.lacrossemonkey.com/lacrosse-brine-womens-complete-stick-pixie.html
If you have any questions about any other brands please feel free to email me at coachkirk28@gmail.com 2011 Season Highlights The Lady Huskies had a successful Spring 2011 season, finishing with a 9 - 9 record and having 3 players selected as All-Conference players. The Lady Huskies went on to beat city rival Naperville Central HS in the first round of the playoffs but fell to top seeded Hinsdale Central HS in the second round of the playoffs. The Lady Huskies look to build upon their Spring 2011 season as they are returning a majority of their varsity players and by playing in the Brush Hill league over the Summer. |
