Alas, all good things must come to an end.

The original North Mississauga Soccer Club 1988 girls representative team is now a piece of history.  With today's final game against cross-town rivals the Mississauga Flacons, the Panthers will now become a memory for those that were part of the team and those who played against them.

Many girls have come and gone through the years, and hopefully each one takes into her future a lasting friendship with their past team mates.

Some of you are seeking placement on other squads, while others will soon be following.  To those of you, the best from myself and the rest of the team staff.

Others will opt instead for a less stressful house league system, while the remainder will forget about soccer (at least for a while).  To those of you, our best wishes also go out.

If the number of "senior" women players is any indication, many of you will one day in the future remember the sport which you have loved for many years and once again take up the challenge of the beautiful game.

Some of you will hopefully take the sport further into your heart and take up the other end of the sport, coaching young ladies (or men) and pass on your passion and skills.  The sport will only get stronger from this.

It has been an honour and a privilege to have met each of you over the last several years, first as an observer, then as a parent, then as an assistant and finally as your coach.

For those of you continuing with the sport, don't be surprised if I turn up at one of your matches.  I've been known to just go and watch a game because it was being played.  On the other hand, who knows, I just may be the guy on the field wearing black, so behave yourselves.
