The following new age classifications were passed at the 2005 USA Hockey Annual Congress.

Birthdate Age Division
1989      18 Midget 18 & Under
1990      17 Midget 18 & Under
1991      16 Midget 16 & Under
1992      15 Midget 16 & Under
1993      14 Bantam 14 & Under
1994      13 Bantam 14 & Under
1995      12 Peewee 12 & Under
1996      11 Peewee 12 & Under
1997      10 Squirt 10 & Under
1998       9 Squirt 10 & Under
1999 & younger 8 & under Mite 8 & Under***

***NOTE*** NMAHA has a developmental Mini-Mite division for children 6 and under which is a division not officially recognized by USA Hockey.
