Wednesday, May 26 John Tedder's Nottingham History 1954 thru 1993 In 1993, John Tedder, a long-time Nottingham supporter, wrote a history tracing the League’s beginnings from 1954 through 1992. The District team had just come off a fantastic season in 1992, having reached the Little League World Series as a US Finalist. It was written as the League was approaching its 40th anniversary and was published for several years in the League’s Yearbook. Mr. Tedder now resides in upstate New York and is happy to see its revival here on our website. He is still active with the keyboard with a blog http://www.teddersrandomnotes.com/blog/ where he sometimes recalls his days in Hamilton Square.
Handout: Tedders NLL History 1954 thru 93 Tuesday, June 8 Ryan McPhillips Scholarship Awards The Nottingham Little League Ladies Auxiliary Ryan McPhillips Scholarship awards were presented to: Patrick Ferrara, Joseph Palladino and Kyle Paul. Each recipient received the $500 award for their outstanding community and school spirit, academic success and continued sportsmanship. All qualities that Ryan displayed during his years at Nottingham and through high school. The McPhillips Family were true supporters of our league and worked tirelessly during their years here. This scholarship was established in 2000, and each year since then the Ladies Auxiliary has awarded three recipients $500 each for their college expenses. The McPhillips are grateful that this tradition continues and thank the league for recognizing their son.
Monday, August 11 Nottingham Supports Ryan's Quest
Nottingham Little League is pleased to support Ryan's Quest, an organization founded by members of the Nottingham Little League Community, David and Maria Schultz. They became dedicated to fighting Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), after their 2-year old son was diagnosed with this fatal disorder that has no treatment or cure. Ryan's Quest is working hard to raise awareness and funding for DMD research to find therapies and even a cure for this devastating disease. Nottingham Little League is proud to have supported Ryan's Quest during the 2008 District 12 Final 9 tournament, by donating an entire 50/50 take of approximately $275. For more information please follow the link above.
Bob Montague - 25 Year Service Award
On Friday, June 11, 2010, Nottingham Little League honored Bob Montague for 25 years of outstanding service to our league. Over the past quarter century, Bob has served Nottingham in many capacities: as a coach, a manager, an advisor, an Executive Board member, and most importantly, as a friend to many. Bob's dedication to our league and to the youth of Hamilton Square will forever be recognized by Nottingham LL. From that day forward, the first base dugout of the Jim Reed Field will be known as the "Bob Montague Dugout".
Thank you Bob!
