Nottingham 10 Year Old All Stars - 2008 District 12 & Section 3 Title Winners & State Championship Finalists!
2008 10 Year Old Section 3 Champs
Nottingham's 16th Sectional Pennant Captured by the 10 Year Old Squad

The Nottingham 10 Year Old All Stars enjoyed a fantastic summer, playing in the State Championship game on August 8th and finishing with a 14-3 record.

In District 12 play, great defense and good pitching propelled the Nottingham 10's to beat East Windsor 7-4 and Robbinsville 9-6, and in the Final defeated West Windsor 4-2, securing Nottingham Little League’s 42nd District Title.

Next came the NJ Section 3 Tournament, with competition from very good teams from Toms River and Colts Neck. In Game 1, Nottingham staged an incredible two-out comeback in the last inning to beat Colts Neck 7-6. The following day the Toms River Nationals were defeated 7-6. In the Finals, Toms River eked out a 3-1 win, forcing a final showdown the next day. A determined Nottingham squad responded by coming out pounding the ball, making no errors and one-hit pitching to defeat Toms River 13-0 in 4 innings, capturing the League's 16th Sectional Title.

The State Final Four was hosted by Winslow Township LL, and Nottingham played five consecutive evenings. Nottingham took Game 1, defeating Sparta 15-0. In their only subpar game of the summer, the boys lost to a tough and opportunistic Erial on Tuesday 11-1. After knocking out Sparta 9-4 on Wednesday, Nottingham was faced with having to defeat Erial twice. On Thursday Nottingham made its best case as to why it really is the best team in the State of New Jersey, crushing Erial 14-0. In the Friday final showdown, Nottingham outhit Erial, but could not hold the lead, losing 8-6. What a great run they had!

Parents, coaches, friends and relatives are all very proud of this team!

The 9 year old All Star team had a great run this summer. While in the Ewing Tournament they took an early loss from Ewing (7-6), to bump them into the Loser’s bracket. In true Nottingham spirit, they fought back and won 5 games in 5 days; defeating Princeton (9-7), Robbinsville (11-9 in 7 innings), Ewing (9-3), Sunnybrae (8-2) and Sunnybrae (12-8), to take the Tournament title. Every player showed up during the five days and earned the title as a team.

Ryan Schultz Throwing Out the First Ball at District 12 Final 9 Game
Nottingham Little League is pleased to support Ryan's Quest, an organization founded by members of the Nottingham Little League Community, David and Maria Schultz. They became dedicated to fighting Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), after their 2-year old son was diagnosed with this fatal disorder that has no treatment or cure. Ryan's Quest is working hard to raise awareness and funding for DMD research to find therapies and even a cure for this devastating disease. Nottingham Little League is proud to have supported Ryan's Quest during the 2008 District 12 Final 9 tournament, by donating an entire 50/50 take of approximately $275.
