New Jersey State Little League: A Safety Awareness Program (ASAP)

A SAFETY AWARENESS PROGRAM





The State of New Jersey has established the position of State Safety
Officer and Section Safety Officers.

It is there responsibility to make sure that leagues within the section submit
plans that would meet qualifications for approval so that the leagues are
eligible for discounts on Little league insurance.

FOR 2007 NEW JERSEY LEAGUES SUBMITTED 78 % OF QUALIFIED PLANS
THIS IS UP FROM 72% IN 2006. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING
DISTRICTS IN PARTICIPATION IN ASAP FOR 2007 90% - 100% DISTRICTS 1,2,5,6,10,11,12,14,15,18
75% - 89% DISTRICT 4,16,19

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING DISTRICTS
FOR OBTAINING 100% DISTRICT 1,2,6,10,11,12,14 AND 15.

THE DISTRICT INCENTIVE PROGRAM WILL AGAIN GIVE A BONUS OF $350
TO DISTRICTS WITH 80% OF ALL ITS LEAGUES' SAFETY PLANS WITH ALL
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TURNED IN BY APRIL 1ST. $150 WILL BE GIVEN
TO DISTRICTS WITH 60 - 79 PERCENT OF LEAGUES' PLANS APPROVED BY
APRIL 1ST. THE GENERAL DEADLINE FOR ALL LEAGUES TO SUBMIT THEIR
SAFETY PLANS IS MAY 1ST. More

Little League Report on efforts to protect wellbeing of participants and volunteers

The Little League International Communications Division has produced a comprehensive report on the history of Little League’s efforts and accomplishments regarding the wellbeing of its participants and volunteers. This white paper entitled “Hits and Runs … Bumps and Bruises: Health, Safety and Injury Prevention are the Keystone of Little League” provides an overview of the various advancements in these areas.
