Middlesex County 50+: Welcome

The over 50's league is subdivided into A and B performance levels, with A being the most challenging. There are six A teams and 6 B teams. The season runs from April into August. Winners advance to play in the NJ State Senior Softball tournament. We also offer a fall ball season from September until mid-November. Games are played at Boynton Park/Woodbridge, Washington Park/Perth Amboy, Thomas Edison Park/Edison, and Veteran's Park, Old Bridge. All games are played as doubleheaders on Saturday mornings. LEAGUE CHANGES TO TWO DIVISIONS, ADDS TWO FIELDS, STARTS APRIL 21

The league made some radical changes, adding two A teams and merging the remaining Bs and all the Cs into one division.  In an effort to equal the playing field against Rod's and the Globe, the A division will allow just 3 HR per game - any balls over the fence thereafter will be counted as singles.  The new teams in the A division are Celebrity Deli and the Highlanders.

The A division will play each other twice (20 games) and will play against the Bs once (12 games).  The Bs will play each other twice and the As once.  Key players on Rod's, the Globe and Edgewood are playing in several tournaments this year.  Without them in the lineups opponents will enjoy more evenly matched competition than usual.

Two new fields will be used this season; one in Perth Amboy just off Rte 35 and Warren Park fields 1 & 2 between Woodbridge and Perth Amboy.  Directions to both may be found in the column to the left; "Locations".  Scroll down to "Perth Amboy" for the first field and to "Warren Park" for the second.

NOTES:  3 Home Runs over the fence per game.  After that, each HR counts as aingle.  Bat usage complies with 2008 ASA regulations.  No sliding into 1st base or home (automatic out).  No alcohol on bench or field.  Player involved will be suspended for present and following game.
