NJSBUA - New Jersey Baseball / Softball Umpires Association: Welcome

WELCOME to the NJSBUA Baseball / Softball High School Officials web site!

The NJSBUA was founded in 1936 and is now 78 Years Old. Our association consists of a dedicated group of men and women officials who are committed to the improvement of Baseball and Softball umpires in the Essex / Morris / Passaic / Somerset / Sussex and Union County conferences we serve.

The NJSBUA is over 500 members strong, we are actively recruiting interested new men and women to increase both our ranks and ability to serve the schools and programs in our area.

Message from the President

Fellow Officials,

Fall is here and most of you are officiating other sports as Football, Soccer and Volleyball. Baseball and Softball are still not out of the picture. It’s good to know that most of us are staying active in some sports.

When watching the MLB playoff games, pay close attention to the umpire calls. They are the best of the best and they still male mistakes, remember we are only human. Let’s not use this as an excuse. Let’s try our best to get it right. So, let’s stay sharp and have a good knowledge of the rules.

The Board of Directors are working on having 3 Man Umpire clinics. Two separate dates will be available to give everyone the opportunity to become State certified for the NJSIAA tournament.

Thank You, Joe Caravano
