2009 SEASON

I would like to take this time to welcome all our Leagues in District 2 for the 2009 Baseball and Softball season. I hope your registrations are going well and you are gearing up for Opening Day. Just a reminder, remember as you prepare for the upcoming season Little League is a program to service the youth of America. We, as Little League volunteers are dedicated to helping children become good and decent citizens.

As a non-profit youth program, we the volunteers inspire the children to reach their goals in life. We teach the values of teamwork, sportsmanship and fair play. No other youth program can claim to do this. No other youth program is recognized by the U.S. Government as is Little League. Every year since July 16th, 1964 when President Lyndon Johnson signed into Legislation as a Federal Charter, we celebrate "Little League Week" around the World the 2nd week of June. Again, no other youth program has been so honored by the Federal Government. We, as Little League volunteers should be proud that we belong to such a special program for kids.

We also "must" keep SAFETY in mind for the children, the number one priority of Little League. So as you submit you're Safety Plans to Williamsport for 2009, please be sure that your Managers, Coaches, League Personnel, parents, and any other league volunteers follow the safety procedures with the interest of the children in mind. The District will be watching.

The District Staff and I thank each League for their Cooperation, Participation and Assistance to ensure that NJ District 2 is operating at its Best.

Good Luck and see you on the field.
