| Larry Smith - Matawan HS |
Jan. 1 - Jan. 7:
6'2 Sr Guard Larry Smith lead Matawan High School to a 2 and 1 week to start the New Year. Larry is a very explosive athlete who has a knack for scoring the ball. Larry is a pure scorer, who is one of the toughest players in the State to defend off the dribble because of his 3 point range and ability to play above the rim. Larry was a breakout player during the summer while gaining interest from college coaches at AAU Nationals, NJ State Tournament and Big Shots Richmond Tournament. To start the new year, Larry erupted for a career high 34 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Red Bank High School 58 to 44 and followed up that performance with 21 pts in a win over Freehold Borough High School 53 to 37. Larry finished the week with a 19 point effort in a loss to Middletown North 53 to 65. Larry is averaging 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the New Year.

Marvin is one of the most versatile players in the state of NJ because he can play all 5 positions on the court and is a high IQ player. Marvin has stormed out of the gates averaging 18.1 points per game and nearly had his team 2 and 0 this weak while competing in the Strong GMC Conference.
