November, 2009 Dear Friend of Little League Baseball, For the tenth consecutive year a State Baseball or Softball Champions emerged from District 12 in 2009, a real accomplishment in the State of New Jersey. Congratulations to East Windsor PAL whose 10 year Old Girls Softball team was crowned State Champions, the Nottingham Little League 10 year old baseball team and the Robbinsville 12 year old softball team who were crowned Section 3 Champions. Indeed, each year since 1952, Little League Baseball in New Jersey District 12 has produced some of the most exciting baseball and softball en-route to the Little League World Series. From Princeton to Trenton, Bordentown to Cranbury, and Lawrence to Hamilton, throughout July, All-Star teams from each of the twenty leagues participate in seven tournaments, four of which culminate in World Championships. The premier tournament is the International World Series for 12 year olds that will conclude August 29, on ABC's Wide World of Sports, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. I am writing to invite you to become or renew your sponsorship of the Little League Baseball - District 12 Tournaments that will begin this year on June 26. In 2010 District 12 will conduct each of the five tournaments in a pool play format with the final fifteen games of each tournament being held at a single District 12 site. Sponsors will be: • invited to supply and display appropriate advertising banners; • featured in banner advertising on the District web-page www.NJDistrict12.org ; • provided with a booth if they so desire at the annual manager and coach clinic attended by over 300 Little League coaches and managers in March at a local High School or College; • featured in all District 12 Tournament publications; and • invited to participate in pre-game ceremonies at the 12 year old District championship game which often has well over 1,000 Little League fans in attendance. Sponsorship for the 2010 Tournament is $250 and checks may be made payable to Little League Baseball, NJ District 12. Proceeds will help defray the costs of administering the tournament, provide pins to the team participants, provide plaques to the runner-up team and provide each of the winning teams with a district championship banner.
