To All 2013 Prospective Supporters,

Participation in team sports was a great part of my childhood.  Through participation in youth baseball I learned how to set goals, handle pressure situations and a sense of responsibility to myself and others.  The value of those lessons led me to seek out a role on the board of Niskayuna Baseball so that I might be able to provide those lessons to my son, his friends and children throughout my community.  Niskayuna Baseball is a non-profit organization that provides over 600 children ages 5-18 the opportunity to play baseball.  The organization is run entirely by volunteers, with each member of the board of directors playing a specific role in the league’s operations from equipment management, registration, team formation and scheduling and field maintenance to name a few.  The league would not be successful without the efforts of these volunteers and the financial support of local businesses and individuals.   As always, we seek companies to sponsor our teams to help defray many of the costs associated with uniforms, replenishing equipment and improving the fields for playability and safety.   This year our league is presented with some challenges and opportunities that will require additional help and support to ensure that Niskayuna Baseball continues to offer a great product for our families and a safer environment for everyone.  Among our challenges, we have two electronic scoreboards that we have kept alive through numerous stop gap measures, but now they must be replaced at a cost of ten thousand dollars and twelve thousand dollars each.  The fields for our youngest players, who make up the bulk of the league, need overhauling and many of the fences surrounding those fields are in need of upgrading and/or replacing.  Currently, the only bathroom facilities available at the lower fields are porta-potties and we hope to build a concession area that would also have adequate bathrooms.      We also have a great opportunity ahead this season.  Our league has continued to rise in stature among local and regional baseball associations.  After hosting numerous local tournaments over the past few seasons Niskayuna has been selected as the host of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Babe Ruth Tournament for 13 year olds.  From July 31-August 6, 2013 we will be hosting 10 teams from 8 states that will play 45 games as they vie for a berth to the National Babe Ruth World Series.  A lot of time, effort and approximately $7,000 in costs will go into making this tournament and the experience for the visiting teams and their families a successful venture. If you would like to discuss how you can help with any of the various items mentioned above I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you.  Included, I have outlined many of the opportunities available for your company to support Niskayuna Baseball and the recognition your company would receive for its support.  Please review the opportunities below and consider supporting our players and our league.
